Sometimes the only way to celebrate Mother’s Day is to truly relax and enjoy a spot of pampering at a luxury spa. I’m an Ashtead mum, who just so happens to also be a PR Consultant for Spa’s (someone’s got to do it!). Cleanse, scrub, rehydrate, relax & replenish… everyone deserves a treat once in a while and what better way to truly relax than to invest in some good old fashioned ‘selfcare’. Following on from Dee’s “What Mums Really Want for Mother’s Day” blog I thought I would do an  edit of some of the best pampering spots. Luckily for us, we have some of the best, multi award winning spas here in Surrey (hint hint Dads)!

Pennyhill Park Hotel & Spa, part of Exclusive Hotels and situated in Bagshot has won Best Spa in the South East on two occasions now. It is the ultimate mental and physical retreat from the outside world – an exclusively adult environment, sumptuously spacious and calming. In the past I’ve enjoyed their Citrus Essence Facial by Spanish skincare house, Natura Bisse. An antioxidant treatment that restores vitality to sun damaged skin and helps minimize the signs of premature aging. 100% pure vitamin C will stimulate collagen production and renew skin firmness.

Brooklands Hotel & Spa in Weybridge are offering a lovely 2 hour package for Mum’s To Be. Enjoy 25 minute pregnancy massage followed by a bespoke 50 minute Vinoperfect Facial. Finish with a luxury manicure or pedicure with fresh grapes to snack upon. Enjoy a light lunch & a soft drink plus full use of the BSpa facilities. (Only available after the first trimester).

The Coach House Spa at Beaverbrook in Leatherhead is hotly anticipated. Due to open during the Summer 2018, it’ll include: 6 treatment rooms (some say with their own private courtyard) indoor & outdoor pools, hammam, steam room & sauna. The spa treatments and products are inspired by the healing power found in the medicinal plants, flowers & fruits of the woodlands and countryside that surrounds the stately house. One to watch!

Cliveden, Berkshire – You may know the property due to your National Trust membership and running after the kids but leave the children behind this time, for some major pampering!

Cliveden is one of the UK’s most iconic country house hotels and it has recently spent millions revamping its spa and the results are spectacular! Tucked away behind a walled garden it boasts: seven treatment rooms, a studio for manisand pedis, a beautiful and elegant indoor pool fitness classes and outdoor hot tubs.

Lime Wood, New Forest – The Herb House Spa at luxury country house hotel, Limewood has been designed over three levels. It has a massive Sauna and indoor Hydro Pool with stunning forest views, a Mud House, a steaming outdoor Hot Pool, eight spacious single treatment rooms and two magnificent double treatment rooms – the perfect place to escape from the world in the heart of the New Forest.

If that’s not enough there’s a state of the art rooftop gym with the very latest Technogym equipment, a 16 metre ozone treated indoor lap pool with glass doors overlooking the garden and a workout studio offering an extensive range of fitness classes. So why not relax together in one of our double treatment rooms, do yoga in our roof top herb garden or tuck into some seriously feel-good food in Raw & Cured.

The Ned – London’s newest private members hotel, club & one amazing spa! A spectacular building which has renewed its fabulous 1920’s art deco interiors, it boasts 250 bedrooms and nine restaurants, from Paris to New York, via the Asian Pacific! Built around a 20-metre indoor pool, Ned’s Club Spa is a space in which to unwind. Complete with a sauna, steam room, traditional Moroccan hammam and eight Cowshed treatment rooms, it’s a one-stop-shop for women’s and men’s beauty and grooming. One favourite treatment is the Cowshed Moody full body massage.

Thai Square Spa – London’s authentic Thai day spa, situated near Embankment is the Good Spa Guide Award finalist for ‘wellbeing’ which is quite a feat for a Central London city based spa! This is a beautiful split level spa, which commences each treatment with a deeply relaxing floral foot bath. Why not try their Golden Maharani Facial (as see on the TV show, The Apprentice in November). Inspired by the natural beauty of the ancient Siamese women, this exquisite treatment leaves skin glowing with radiant health and vitality. After a scrupulous cleanse, enjoy a revitalising Jasmine based exfoliation before firming Thai herbal compresses are gently pressed into the skin to stimulate facial acupressure points. The 24-carat Pure Gold Collagen Mask is at the heart of the treatment and plumps up the skin with its beautiful blend of opulent ingredients that deeply hydrate and nurture dull, dehydrated and more mature complexions. Enjoy a mini head and shoulder massage as this luxurious mask helps stimulate collagen production and leaves skin with a lit-from-within golden glow.

Galgorm Resort & Spa – The hottest destination for a spa staycation is this Ballymena based spa resort, which sits on the banks of the River Maine within 163 acres of pretty parkland. It’s latest award win, is that of Global Escape with your partner or a girlfriend for their 2 Night Spa Retreat, this includes: Luxury accommodation, full Irish breakfast on each morning of your stay, 3-course evening meal in one of the resort’s four restaurants, use of the Thermal Spa Village and new Serenity Garden (you’ll need a map its so incredible!) with Celtic Sauna Ritual. Also enjoy an Afternoon Tea within the art deco, riverside Conservatory and a 60 mins treatment of your choice.

So that’s my edit, any of these beautiful Spa’s would make a lovely Mother’s Day treat – in fact who needs Mother’s Day as an excuse!!!
