YOGA BUT NOT YOGA!!!!

Many of you that know me will know that I’m no gym bunny, I’m not into fun runs, park runs, circuit training or aerobics. The thought of going to a fitness class fills me with apprehension and unease. (Having two children makes jumping up and down near impossible due to my disinterest in pelvic floor exercises. Say no more.) However I am partial to yoga so when I heard about Back on Track DDP Yoga I wanted to find out more (I also took Dee & Co along with me).
The classes are run by Lee (aka Boz) who has lost an amazing 4 stone through this amazing form of exercise. He informs me that this is not a conventional yoga class it is a series of high resistance classes that are based upon a combination of traditional yoga poses and sequences with callisthenics and rehabilitation techniques used by athletes and sportsmen/women. So expect no chanting meditation or umming in this class. Back on Track DDP yoga is working on core resistance and calorie burning through a series of movements which gradually raise your heart rate and help strengthen key muscle groups.
The class was inclusive for all levels of fitness with each move being tailored to your own individual ability.
Boz and his partner are both very approachable and are clear and concise teachers, making you feel instantly at ease. As promised there were no aches or pains the next morning and I slept so well considering being a mum of two under fives!
It is definitely a fitness class I felt an instant likening to. One of the main benefits was burning over 500 calories within my first class without sweating or compromising my pelvic floor! That in itself is a definite winner for me.
Back on Track DDP Yoga is held at Ruxley Lane Church, West Ewell.
