It may seem a tad early to be discussing all things festive when It’s still relatively warm outside, but if you want to secure the best spot for your kids to meet the big man himself then it’s something to start thinking about! We’ve explored some popular options below:

From the 24th November – 24th December it’s all about the build up at Chessington Garden Centre, the magical walk through features a new theme each year, and the models and scenes are truly outstanding, with moving characters and interactive experiences. Child ticket price (£14.50) includes a craft workshop, two photo opportunities and and a wrapped present from Santa.

Just next door at Chessington World of Adventures from 1st December – 2nd January selected rides are running for the Winter’s Tail event, you also gain entrance to the Zoo and Sealife and can take part in some Gruffalo themed activities. Plus of course, entrance to the grotto and a gift. All day early bird tickets cost £18pp.

If it’s whole day experiences you are after then another option is Legoland, running 1st & 2nd, 8th & 9th, 15th – 23rd the theme park promises a sprinkling of Lego magic, with rides, shows & special attractions. Additionally kids get a Lego gift from Santa in his grotto, however it’s not the cheapest option at £36pp. If money is no object then Lapland UK starts from £49 per person, the Enchanted Forest, Elf Village and ice skating rink amongst other attractions will make this an unforgettable Christmas memory. Another option that could be stretched into a few hour visit is Tulley’s Farm, 24th November to 24th December, with child tickets from £27.95, they will be treated to a sleigh ride, puppet shows, reindeer talks, and various craft workshops.

If it’s farms you fancy then Hobbledown (25th November – 24th December) Santa’s grotto costs £12.95 per child and includes a gift, keyring and candy cane – although please take note this price is on top of normal admission prices. At Bocketts Farm Park’s online booking opens in October – hop on board the Santa Express Trailer and visit Santa in his traditional hay-barn workshop from 22nd November – 24th December. Meet the animals at Wiglet’s Christmas Adventure at Godstone Farm which runs from 1st-24th December, with child tickets from £19.50 including a gift, story-time and gingerbread decorating.

For something a little different then Santa’s Sitting Room will transport you back in time to a bygone era, this unique theatrical grotto with a sprinkling of modernity includes a wrapped gift and costs £10.50 per child, 19th – 24th December. Train mad youngsters will love to hop on at Leatherhead Miniature Railway for a train ride to meet Santa and receive a gift on 8th & 9th December, £12 per child. Finally, you make like a trip to Painshill Park for the festive experience, brand new this year is Santa’s Toy Factory, beware tickets sell out fast.  Dates available are from 24th November to 23rd  December (bookings open in October) .
