Hello lovely families of Epsom and Ewell,

I know they’ve been back to school a week already but I hope that you had a great half term and that you are ready for the start of March, and hopefully some more Spring-like weather (fingers crossed!).

Here’s a break down of events in and around the area in March, including a variety of charity and family events. So I hope that you find something to keep you busy.

Tuesday 3rd of March

Enjoy your lunch while listening to a Bach Lunchtime Organ Recital at 1.05pm at St Mary’s Church.

Thursday 5th March

Learn to cook exciting new recipes with your preschooler at Grow Cook Enjoy! Learn about cooking techniques, while learning some great life skills.

The Mary Francis Trust will be holding a series of classes to improve the mental and emotional wellbeing of 17 to 25 year olds. The class runs from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Saturday 7th March

To start a year round programme of film events and screenings, Satisfied Eye International Film Festival have a PWYW (Pay What You Want) screening of Amazing Kids Animation from 10.30am. 11.30am is SOLD OUT. Book tickets here.

Welcome Spring at Bourne Hall’s Herald of Spring event. There is also a scarecrow competition for schools and youth groups – the theme is 1960’s. Scarecrows need to brought to Bourne Hall by 6th March. For more information, contact David Brooks.

There is a Clothes Swap at Sutton Cricket Club. You will be able to check your items in from 11.00am, and swapping will start at noon.

Macmillan Cancer Support are holding a Watch me Cheer to help support those who have had treatment. The event is at Aldershot Football Club, from 2.00pm.

Sunday 8th March

Inspire Weddings are holding a Wedding Fair at Coulsdon Manor. Tickets are free and you get a free glass of prosecco on arrival! Over 30 wedding suppliers and a showcase of Coulsdon Manor Hotel.

Ebbisham Sports Club is hosting a FREE Women’s Social Rackets Event, to celebrate International Women’s Day, and to raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Friday 13th March

Good Evening has a Friday Night Takeaway class – making a chicken curry. Take away your meal and a goody bag. There is also a fish and lentil curry class, a Mother’s Day class and supper clubs available.

Saturday 14th March

Epsom’s Rotary Club are hosting a Quiz Night, with a Fish and Chip Supper, from 7.00pm.

Celebrate the legend, Bob Marley, in a one-night extravaganza. Epsom Playhouse from 7.30pm. If you would like to see what else is available at Epsom Playhouse in March, have a look at Dee’s blog.

Sunday 15th March

Walk 5kms around Painshill Park, with scone, jam and tea on completion. Free entry to the park for all ticket holders. Tickets are £15 for adults and £8 for children. The walk is in aid of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.

For Your Diary

Epsom Players will be back at Epsom Playhouse for Shrek, from the 17th to 21st March.

Age Concern Epsom & Ewell will be holding an Easter Bunny Hop – family fun run on the 5th April from 10.00am to 12.00pm. Follow the event for registration information.

Also on the 5th April, there is Epsom & Ewell Mayor’s Charities‘ Easter Trail at Bourne Hall from 1.00pm. Money raised goes to charities: Epsom & Ewell Phab, MND Association, East Surrey Branch and Alzheimer’s Society. Please email to sign up – places are limited.

A night at the races on the 10th April, from 6.00pm to 11.30pm. Horse racing, photobooth, raffles, food and drink, and music. £10 per entry ticket – bring cash for racing, etc. If you are able to donate a prize, please contact the organisers.
