Summer is in the air and BBQ season is in full swing (well at least for now). It’s a great time to be out and about. Here’s a roundup of what’s coming up and what you need to know about in the Epsom & Ewell area and the surrounds.
Music in the Market Place
Dorking Halls – Summer Market
Sunday, 13th June sees Dorking Halls hosting a mix of friendly, creative, and unique businesses; 42 in total. There’ll be handmade and high quality artwork, beauty items and candles, ceramics and jewellery plus fashion, food & drink and gifts for the home. A free ticketed event, you’ll find details here.
Grow Cook Enjoy
Grow Cook Enjoy is running a Summer Cooking Club (online) for children aged 5-11 years until 6th July. The theme is alfresco dining with Cornish pasties, burgers, kebabs, scones, strawberry tarts and some super salads on the menu. Find out more here. Epsom Craft Market
The Folly Fairs monthly craft and gift market is back in Epsom on Sunday, June 13th (10:00am to 3:30pm). You’ll find an array of handmade products such as soaps, candles, luxury hampers, unique jewellery, glassware, ceramics, art and woodcrafts all made by local people. Epsom Common Association – Wild Flower Wander
Pete Howarth from the Countryside Team will lead the Wild Flower Wander. You’ll find and identify many of the more interesting wild flowers and botanical delights resident on the Common. Join him at 2pm on Sunday, 20th June. Maybe a nice one to do with dad 🙂
The walk starts from the Stew Pond car park, Christ Church Road (meet near the Gallows gate entrance) and lasts approximately 2 hours.
Hook Road Car Boot Sale
Deemed the ‘Daddy of all car boot sales’, come and take a browse at the next one on Sunday, June 13th. As well as bargains, there are the new street food stalls plus the events raise money for St Raphael’s Hospice. Gates open at 7am; sellers don’t need to book, just pitch up on the day at around 7am. Taste of the World Market
There’s a special Taste of the World Market this Sunday (June 13th – 9.30am-3.30pm). Alongside the usual great food stalls there will also be live music by renowned Jonny Hepbir Gypsy Jazz Duo who will be showcasing amazing virtuoso guitar playing. This concert is one of a series of concerts throughout the Summer on Epsom Market Place. Jonny Hepbir Duo will perform 12pm-2.30pm.
EzeeSport – Summer Holiday Camps
EzeeSport is offering holiday camps in Leatherhead, Epsom, Ashtead and Wimbledon this Summer following a very successful programme last year. Little Pip Photography – The Sunset Lavender Sessions
The international award winning photography of Little Pip comes to Banstead’s beautiful lavender fields (Mayfield Lavender) on Friday, 16th July for a very special photoshoot. St Martin’s Church in Epsom is holding a Covid recovery event for two weeks from Sunday 13th June until Sunday 27th June.
It is a time for people to reflect on the past year and to take some time out to think and restore their feelings and emotions in the peaceful surroundings of the church (which will be open from 9am-5pm). Additionally, there will be a piano recital on Friday 18th & 25th June at 12.30pm. www.stmartinsepsom.org
Keep Epsom & Ewell Tidy – The Priest Hill Clean Up
