What’s happening in and around the area – June part 1

Posted by Francesca De Franco on 04 Jun 2021

I hope everyone’s had a chance to get out and about in the lovely weather over half-term.

It’s only just over two weeks to go until Father’s Day so it’s definitely the time to get booking if you fancy dining out on Sunday, 20th June. Well House Inn (mentioned below) is a great option and there’s plenty more inspiration here.

Tattenhams Market

Tattenhams Market, the monthly community market organised by St Mark’s church, is back with the next one happening on Saturday, June 5th (10am-1pm). You’ll find a big variety of craft stalls and items. For more details visit: https://www.stmarkschurch.me.uk/what-we-do/community/tattenhams-market/

Keep Epsom & Ewell Tidy – The Priest Hill Clean Up

The Priest Hill clean up is on Sunday, 13th June (09.30am-11.30am). Meet at Priest Hill Close (KT17 3FD) next to the entrance of the Priest Hill fields to get in on the clean up. Full info here.

Epsom Farmers Market

The next Farmers Market is on Sunday, 6th June (9:30am to 1:30pm) in the market place.

You will find a huge array of diverse, artisan and locally produced foods and products including: fresh meats, sausages, poultry, game, eggs, fish, fruit & veg, herbs, freshly baked breads, cheeses, pies, cakes and seasonal plants.

For more information visit: https://www.surreymarkets.co.uk/

Well House Inn

A new favourite, the Well House Inn, situated in the lovely countryside of Coulsdon (c.10-15 mins drive from Epsom & Ewell), is continuing its season of Bottomless Prosecco Brunches every Saturday. I can vouch for how good they are! Read Kat’s review here. The pub would also make a great venue for Father’s Day celebrations, they will be having a live saxonist player. Visit the website for bookings.

Mayfield Lavender Farm

Banstead’s beautiful lavender farm is now open for the season. The flowers are not in bloom just yet but are expected to be by mid-to-late June. Keep an eye on the farm’s social media channels for the latest lavender forecasts. The signature purple array might not be in evidence just yet, but it’s still a lovely place for a visit: https://www.mayfieldlavender.com/
