After the excitement of England being in the Euro final came the disappointment, and unfortunately after that some very ugly behaviour. One thing that’s triumphed again though is community spirit and people coming together to call out racist actions. Community bonds are so important ❤️

Here’s what’s going on and coming up in our local community.

Court Recreational Ground

Epsom & Ewell Borough Council has installed swanky new outdoor gym equipment in Court Recreational Ground. There is now gym equipment in five of the borough’s green spaces and it looks great.

Ambition School of Dance – Summer workshops 


Ambition School of Dance is running two Cats Workshops this summer (26th – 29th July OR 24th – 27th August) for children aged 8 and above. Over the course of four days, students will put together a show based on the popular musical, with a combination of song and dance. Three days will be spent rehearsing in their purpose built studio in Epsom Square and the final day will take place at Blenheim School with a performance for family at the end of day.

Pride in Surrey – Pride on the Road 

🏳️‍🌈Pride in Surrey’s Pride on the Road event (sponsored by Surrey County Council) is back this year on the 16th to 18th of July and hitting Epsom on Saturday, 17th July 9.30 10.30am.

“We will be loading up our rainbow festooned Pride Trucks with the gang and special merchandise and twisting and turning through every beautiful borough in Surrey, to bring Pride to you.”

Summer Walks – Bush Cricket Hop 


It’s the final one in the series of Epsom Common Association‘s summer walks. Steve Nevard will lead the Bush Cricket Hop on Sunday, 17th July to detect and see some of the varied species of grasshoppers, bush crickets and other insects that thrive on the Common.

Starts from the Stew Pond car park, Christ Church Road (meet near the Gallows gate entrance) and lasts approximately 2 hours.

EzeeSport – Holiday Camps 

EzeeSport is offering holiday camps in Leatherhead, Epsom, Ashtead and Wimbledon this Summer following a very successful programme last year.  For ages 3-12, the camps teach a wide range of skills that can apply to any sport in the future. Find out more here:

Guildford Cheese & Chilli Festival 2021


The only show in the UK which celebrates both cheese and chilli within a festival setting is coming to Guildford this weekend (17th and 18th July) at Shalford Park.

Pardon Your French – GCSE intensive course 

Pardon Your French is running a GCSE intensive course that will help students practise their French, gain confidence and revise before the start of the new academic year. This will be for an hour each day over the course of a week (Mon-Fri) 26th–30th, July and 2nd– 6th, August. More details here and here

There’s a huge array of global cuisine at this great market, which comes to Epsom every Friday (9.30am to 3.30 pm). The next one is on Sunday, July 18th. Find out more here.

The Children’s Trust Supercar Event


The one-day extravaganza at Goodwood Motor Circuit for The Children’s Trust is taking place on Saturday, 24 July. It looks like it’s going to be amazing with live displays, super car rides, high profile guest presenters, helicopter rides, F1 simulator, mini-monster trucks, Scaletrix, food stalls and more.
