WHAT’S HAPPENING IN AND AROUND THE AREA – JULY PART 1

Happy beginning of July! I am currently in Canada, celebrating my best friend’s wedding, but have found some wonderful activities for everyone in Epsom and Ewell. The end of June was very busy for the Epsom and Ewell Families girls – we had a great time at Yo Sarnie for their Summer Party celebration with Once Upon a Town, and were treated to more delicious food at Good Evening‘s Launch Party – blog coming soon. We love supporting our local Epsom and Ewell (and surrounding) businesses!
From Monday 1st July
If you have a Year 5 or Year 6 child, preparing for secondary school, Epsom and Ewell High School are hosting Preparing for Second School sessions for parents and students.
Wednesday 3rd July
Blenheim Secondary School is holding Open Mornings on the 3rd, 4th and 5th July – if you are interested in looking around the school.
Do you know someone who was born in 1939/1940 and lives in Epsom or Ewell? Citizen Advice Epsom are celebrating 80 years of service, and would like to invite them for afternoon tea.
Thursday 4th July
Music in the Park, in aid of St Raphael’s Hospice, is returning to Nonsuch Park from 4.30pm.
Epsom Downs Racecourse’s Summer Nights Rewind begins from the 4th of July. We will see you there – we’ll be at the 70’s and 80’s nights.
Saturday 6th July
The Rural Life Centre has a Fire Engines on Show weekend, daily activities from 10.00am.
Cuddington Croft, in Cheam, is holding their Summer Fair from 11.00am.
Sunday 7th July
There is an annual Open Day at Wildlife Aid‘s Randall Farm in Leatherhead.
If you fancy a Sunday drive to Godalming, there is a 10th annual Food Festival taking place from 10.00am.
Ewell Village Bowling Club‘s Open Day is taking place at Gibraltar Recreation Grounds from 11.00am to 4.00pm.
Silent Pool has an Artisan Tasting Day at Albury Vineyard from 11.00am.
Meadow Primary School‘s Summer Fair is from 12.00pm to 4.00pm.
Epsom & Ewell Refugee Network have a More in Common Community Event taking place from 12.30pm.
Hatchlands Park, Guildford, is holding a Music in the Park event from 5.30pm.
Monday 8th July
Messy Play Monday’s at Rugrats Stay and Play Cafe from 10.30am.
The Sutton Big Bang Festival returns to Sutton High Street (among other Sutton venues). There will be school events and family fun, follow their page for more information.
Wednesday 10th July
Busylizzy Epsom & Leatherhead has a Picnic in the Park from 11.00am to 1.00pm.
Thursday 11th July
The popular Summer Screenings are booking now, at Wisley from 6.30pm.
Saturday 13th July
The popular local Ewell Village Fair will be taking place again at Ewell Castle’s Glyn House, on Church Street in Ewell.
Danetree Primary School also have their Summer Fair and Football Funday on the 13th, from 12.15pm.
Worcester Park Baptist Church has a Quiz Night from 7.00pm. £5 per person, children go free. Contact Rowena for more information.
Sunday 14th July
Auto Italia Supercar Sunday is returning to Brooklands from 8.00am to 5.30pm.
The Cheam Celebration Farmers Market is happening on the 14th from 10.00am.
There is also more local family fun taking place at the Morden Family Funday from 10.30am.

There is a Beer Bop A Lula Festival at Priory Park, in Reigate, from the 19th to the 21st of July.
Surrey Fire and Rescue’s Open Day, in Reigate, is happening on Saturday 20th July from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

Wildflowers Family Festival is happening again at Hobbledown on the 16th, 17th and 18th August.
Trifest is back on Saturday 31st August, from 12.00pm to 4.00pm, in Auriol Park.
There is a Gatsby-inspired Charity Ball on Saturday 28th September.

Clay Kids have Summer Workshops on the 23rd and 30th July.
Art-K Ewell’s Summer Holiday Workshops are taking place from 29th July to 30th August.
Swimtime has some 5 day Summer-holiday swimming Crash Courses from 5th August at DW Fitness.
Lili-Mae’s School of Performing Arts is doing Dance Workshops from 27th to 30th August.
