Posted by Francesca De Franco on 31 Jul 2021
The school holidays are in full swing; I can’t believe we’re heading into August already. I hope it’s all going well, you still have food left in the house and everyone’s sanity still remains 🙂
Here’s what’s going on in and around the area to keep you all busy.
Banstead Village Day Celebrations
Organised by Banstead Rotary, Banstead Business Guild and Banstead Village in Bloom, the Banstead Village Day Celebrations is a chance to celebrate community and local businesses. There’ll be high street entertainment, shop competitions and plenty to entertain the kids. Opening by the Mayor at 10.30am.
All money collected will be donated to local charities. Further details here: https://www.bansteadrotary.com/village-day

The hugely experienced florists of BBL Design are running Hand Tied Classes at their shop in Ewell Village on Saturday, 7th and 14th August at 10am and 2pm (on both days).
They provide all the lovely blooms and teach the methods you’ll need to create your own hand tied bouquet, which you can take home to enjoy. More information and booking: https://www.bbldesign.co.uk/bbl-flower-school/
Momentum Children’s Charity – Childhood Cancer Awareness Month
Join the Thames Path Challenge team this September for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a great way to show support, help spread awareness of the work the charity does in supporting children with cancer, and of course raise funds for their vital work.
The Farmers Market is back on Sunday, 1st August (9:30am to 1:30pm).
You will find a huge array of diverse, artisan and locally produced foods and products including: fresh meats, sausages, poultry, game, eggs, fish, fruit & veg, herbs, freshly baked breads, cheeses, pies, cakes and seasonal plants.
