So who’s had a haircut, visited a non-essential shop, had a drink in a pub garden or a meal al fresco?  It’s been wonderful seeing our towns coming back to life. Roll on May 17th for even more freedom!

Even before that magic date there’s plenty happening in an and around the area plus the first of the two May bank holidays to enjoy; here’s a rundown:

Taste of the World Market

Friday April 23rd, Friday, April 30th  and Friday, May 7th are the next three Epsom dates for this increasingly popular market that boasts loads of great cuisine from around the globe. Find out more on the blog.

Epsom and Ewell Showcase

Epsom Rotary Club has put together a super programme that includes some of the best performers in Epsom & Ewell. You can watch the charity event from the comfort of your own home on Saturday, 1st May (children’s acts 6pm-7 pm, adult’s 8pm-10pm. Find out more here.

Vineyard Tour & Wine Tasting

Starting on Saturday, 1st May (and continuing all Saturdays throughout May and June), Albury Vineyard is running tour and tasting experiences. Tickets cost £20 (£5 of the ticket price is redeemable against sparkling wine bottle purchases on the day). More details and booking page is here:

May Open Day at Gatton Park

On Sunday, 2nd May, the beautiful and historic Gatton Park in Reigate will be open to explore with walks around the rock garden, Japanese garden, lake and more. Booking is essential:

Wellbeing Walks

The Mary Frances Trust is resuming its Leatherhead and Epsom Downs Wellbeing Walks from Tuesday, 4th May and Thursday, 6th May (respectively). Pre-booked places only; find out more here.

Ewell My Time

My Time 4 Young Carers provides fun and respite for young carers. The Ewell sessions are now back on at the Ewell United Reformed Church.

Polesden Lacey

Polesden Lacey’s Spring Flower Celebration continues until May 30th. Discover all the beautiful spring blooms in the gardens including arrangements of handmade flowers created by the Trust’s volunteers. Booking required

Epsom Craft Market

The Folly Fairs monthly craft and gift market is back in Epsom on Sunday, May 9th (10:30am to 3:30pm). You’ll find an array of handmade products such as soaps, candles, luxury hampers, unique jewellery, glassware, ceramics, art and woodcrafts all made by local people. Go to the Folly Fairs Facebook page for more details.

Tadworth Art Group Spring Exhibition

This year, The Tadworth Art Group is hosting its spring exhibition online at: Between the 14th and 23rd May, you’ll be able to to view and purchase art works by its select group of artists. They can deliver locally and via courier.

Wandgas Free Cricket Taster Sessions (and full courses)


Wandgas Cricket Club is offering FREE Cricket Taster sessions on April 29th and May 6th.

Pardon Your French Tutoring has partnered up with Age Concern Epsom & Ewell to offer weekly French lessons to beginners and intermediates. There is no cost, but they ask for a donation to the association in return. More details here.

My Time 4 Young Carers – looking for volunteers

My Time 4 Young Carers provides fun activities for children and young people whose lives are made difficult because of the physical or mental ill health of family members.
