WALKING 25KM FOR @ THE CHILDREN’S TRUST…
Posted by Kalli Pasqualucci on 26 Apr 2025
The Children’s Trust is a known and loved local charity, at the heart of many fundraising events and projects in Epsom and Ewell. So it was an easy choice for the Trailblazers committee when it came to deciding which charity to work with on the 2025 walk.
The premise of the walk: the current year 6s at St Martin’s CofE Junior School have chosen to adopt the tradition of doing a 25km walk (from Leith Hill to school) to raise money for The Children’s Trust and their end-of-primary school celebrations.
Over 53 students and voluntary parents have taken on the task of doing practice walks (of varying lengths) to prepare for the big walk in the summer, as well as raising donations and sponsorships.
The event aims to teach the children the value of fundraising, working effectively as a team and doing something good for their community, as well as giving back to their school. You can find out more about their efforts here: Trailblazers 2025.
But that is not the only way that you can support The Children’s Trust over the next few months. They have some really fun, adventure-filled and family-friendly events coming up:
Adrenaline junkies can raise money for this fantastic charity by signing up for a Skydive or Bungee Jump.

Fundraise (suggested minimum of £395-£450) by skydiving 10,000 feet. Bungee Jumps take place throughout the year, with the deadline for registration one month before the jump date. Participants must be aged 14 years and over.
National Doughnut Week takes place from the 10th to the 18th of May. Businesses including independent bakeries, coffee shops and offices take part and sell lots of delicious doughnuts to raise funds. You can host your own doughnut sale, and support the charity, by registering your event.

If you enjoy golfing and raising money for charity, sign up for the Spring Golf Day at the Effingham Golf Club. Team places cost £600 and include: coffee and bacon rolls on arrival, 18 holes of golf, a two-course lunch, as well as a raffle and auction.

In June, you can book to attend the Circus Day held at The Children’s Trust, in Tadworth. A perfect treat for the whole family. In addition to the three shows a day, there will also be market stalls, a circus skills area, a craft corner, and delicious BBQ food.
