THRILL SEEKING ACTIVITIES @ GRIPPED LONDON #REVIEW….

Gripped London is the sister company of Hobbledown, based within Hobbledown Heath in Hounslow it took us approximately 35 minutes to drive from Epsom and like Hobbeldown Epsom it’s a great family day out!

Gripped London is described as a place for some heart-racing action, one for thrill seekers.  I wouldn’t say we are absolute thrill seekers but as a family (we went with 2 of our children age 14 and 10) we were looking forward to some “thrill seeking” fun!!!

The activities do have strict height and weight restrictions so make sure you familiarise yourself with this before booking.

We chose to do:

• Dual Zip Line Trekking
  • A speedy zipline side-by-side through the trees, down into the green valley, over the Mining Village of Hobbledown Heath.  The zip trek is made up of 1km of long zips and aerial bridges over the green surroundings of the heath.   Each zip offers varying degrees of angle and speed for maximum thrill factor.

For this session we had an extensive induction with the instructor Sam who was very thorough and patient.  The group is taken to a very short demo course to allow you to practice and follow his instruction.  Depending on how speedy you are this can take up to 45 minutes after the induction.

• Bag Jump
  • Free jump from platforms of varying heights onto giant inflatable bags. Definitely not for the faint-hearted – this is a free fall with no harness, gear or safety nets needed!

There is 4 platforms at different heights and for this session you have to successfully jump safely before moving to the next platform.

Other activities @ Gripped London include:

• High Ropes Courses 
  • Climb up into the treetops to take on two challenging High Ropes courses! Swing, crawl, balance and zip among the beautiful heights of Hounslow Heath.  Choose your difficulty! But beware, both courses are for only advanced thrill-seekers – both require a good level of fitness and bravery…

• Net Adventure Park
  • The Gripped treetop net park is the perfect aerial adventure for all! Bounce, tumble and scramble in our huge treetop nets. Even the youngest of thrill-seekers can explore and play among these elevated large jump nets, net tunnels and slides.

• Power Fan Descender
  • The most extreme challenge at Gripped – base-jumping without the parachute! Free-fall from the very top of a 24-metre tower attached to our gravity defying Power Fan descender restraint system, which will use your own body weight to allow you to land softly on the ground.

• Speed Slides
  • Whizz down one of our two 50 metre long, 20 metre high speed slides! Choose from a near-vertical drop slide, or the slightly more gentle swirly spiral slide…

Activities start at just £8 and can be booked alone or save money by utilising the package bundles.
