THE JUNE LOWDOWN…

This month is dominated by festivities in the shape of the Queen’s Jubilee (check out my post which gives the full rundown) and of course the world famous Epsom Derby!
However, that’s not all, there are plenty of other things happening in and around the area, so read on to find out more…
Ladies Day – After Party at the Derby Arms
Round off a great day at the races on Friday, June 3rd at The Derby Arms’ After Party from 5pm (£10 entry). There’ll be three outdoor bars available, BBQ menu and live DJ.

EMEF – Antiques Valuation Day
Epsom Medical Equipment Fund (EMEF) organise a number of fundraising events throughout the year. On Wednesday, 8th June (11am-2pm) Newland Antiques is doing a valuation day (roughly based on the format of the Antiques Roadshow TV programme) at The Station Pub in Stoneleigh.
Anyone can attend and get an assessment and valuation (£2 per item goes to Epsom Medical Equipment Fund).

Ashtead Rotary Village Day
Ashtead Rotary Village Day is on Saturday, 11th June. It promises to be a full day event, packed with entertainment for the whole family! Main arena shows, lazer clay pigeon shooting, funfair, stalls, dog show and more… Tickets on sale soon so save the date!

Meet the Agincourt Archer and Pilgrim – Kids Club
Hear all about the Battle of Agincourt and the surprise English victory from an archer and discover what it was like to live during the time of the Black Death from a pilgrim at the museum club (Bourne Hall) on Saturday, 11th June (1pm-2.30pm) .

Summer Garden Party – Sutton Ecology Centre and Ecolocal
Friends of Sutton Ecology Centre and Ecolocal are hosting an afternoon of family fun with games, stalls, storytelling, woodland crafts and homemade refreshments on Sunday, June 12th (12pm -5pm). It’s taking place at the Sutton Ecology Centre and is all part of this year’s inaugural Carshalton Festival.

Southfield Park Primary School – Summer Fayre
On Saturday, June 18th, Southfield Park Primary School is holding its first summer fayre since 2019! Have fun with plenty of games, treats and entertainment and raise money for the school.

Epsom & Ewell Refugee Network – Ukrainian Music Evening
The Epsom & Ewell Refugee Network in conjunction with Surrey Stands With Ukraine is hosting a Ukrainian music evening by Ukrainian musicians for Ukrainian refugees at the Epsom Methodist Church on Saturday, June 18th (6-10pm).

Big Day Out 2022
Big Day Out is a great community event organised by Cuddington Residents Association taking place on June 18th (12pm-4pm). There’ll be loads of stalls and a dog show so plenty of fun for all the family.

Family Fun Day
There’s a Family Fun Day on Saturday, 18th June (1-5pm) at the Banstead FC Social Club on Merland Rise. There’ll be a free kids disco, arts and crafts activities plus face painting, candy floss, toy stalls and more.

Nescot Summer Fair & Dog Show
On Saturday, 18th June (10am-2pm), Nescott is holding its annual Summer Fair. Free to enter, there’ll be lots of fun activities for everyone to enjoy including a dog show, farm tours, bouncy castle, plant, book and cake sales, over 30 stalls and activities.

EzeeSport – Teddy Bear Picnic
EzeeSport will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary at Nonsuch Park with a Teddy Bear Picnic and lots of action- packed fun for the whole family on Sunday, 19th June (Father’s Day) 12pm – 4pm.
Bring a picnic and cash for the various activities on the day. Your child can also enter a Sporty Teddy Competition to win a prize.
Entrance: £2.50 per adult at the gate – Children go FREE
A book of 10 tickets can be purchased on the day for £10.
Early Bird online rate is £12 for 2 adult tickets and one book of 10 tickets

Summer Art Exhibition 2022
The Croydon Art Society is hosting its Summer Art Exhibition at Bourne Hall daily from Tuesday, 21st June until Saturday, 2nd July (10am to 4.45pm Tuesday-Saturday). Free admission and all work is for sale.

Baby Boppers at The Barn KT9
Baby Boppers goes al Fresco on Friday, 24th June (10.30am) at The Barn KT9. There’ll be nursery rhymes, action songs, parachute games, sensory activities and bubble time: the perfect morning for you and your baby.

Ewell in Bloom
Ewell Village in Bloom is aiming to ‘green up Ewell Village’ and wants as many people to join in as possible. Want to take part but don’t have any outside space? Put a pot plant in your window to show your support.
You can also attend one of their community days and help beautify Ewell. They meet at 10:30am in Bourne Hall Ewell Park the 4th Sunday of the month.

Queen Mary’s Hospital for Children – Sensory Garden Appeal
Queen Mary’s Hospital for Children want to create a sensory garden for their young patients in time for summer and are calling on the community for a helping hand.
