Refreshments will be available throughout the event. Lots of family fun and a chance to take a look around a fire engine too.

The Boogie, Bounce & BBQ Summer Fair

Meadow Primary School Summer Fair


Meadow Primary School PTA invites you to the school fair on Sunday, 7th July (11am to 3pm).

There will be a huge inflatable obstacle course, bouncy castle, a selection of fair games where you can win prizes, an amazing raffle, a delicious BBQ provided by the Hogsmill Kitchen, soft drinks and a licensed bar, ice creams, plus a number of external stalls. The Year 6s are once again running ‘Grow a Pound’ stalls.

Epsom Common Discovery Day 

Go on a guided walk on Sunday, 7th July (10am-4.30pm) to find out about the flora and fauna of Epsom Common. All are welcome, including families with children (routes are unlikely to be suitable for push chairs). Well-behaved dogs on leads are also welcome. Walks will last around an hour and a quarter, except for the Wild Flower walk which will be about two hours.

Walks are led by EEBC Countryside Team, starting from Stew Pond Meadow

The event is FREE, but numbers are limited, so please book early to avoid disapointment. Places may be available on the day, but priority will given to those who have booked. If you wish you can also make a donation to ECA funds, but that is completely optional.

If conditions permit, there may be pond dipping and bug hunting at Stew Pond Meadow.

Epsom Library will shortly be undergoing a series of improvements aimed at modernising the space. To share these proposed changes and gather feedback, there will be a drop-in event at the library on Tuesday, 9th July from 10am to 4pm.

The Epsom Fire Station Open Day is on Saturday, 13th July between 12pm and 3pm and at the earlier time of 11am to 12pm for those with Special Educational Needs.

Ellis’ Fundraiser day at Neat HQ 

Ellis is a little local boy who needs £250,000 to get him to the US for treatment. Neat will be hosting a fundraiser day on Saturday, July 13th (9am-12pm) where all proceeds raised will go towards his treatment.

It’s £5 per adult; book online to receive one entry into the raffle to be drawn on the day. Tickets can also be purchased on the day/door. All kids go free.

Unlimited play wristbands can also be purchased on the day for £5 – children can then play in the football tournaments/matches and full use of the inflatables.

Festival of Archaeology at Bourne Hall Museum 

This year, Bourne Hall Museum is taking part in the Festival of Archaeology.

Over two weeks (Monday, 15th July- Saturday 27th July) there will be walks around Nonsuch Park and a talk on the history of Ewell Grove. There’ll be an exhibition on the prehistory of the local area, an amazing Living History Day, (Saturday, July 20th) which will include Roman reenactors along with those from the Viking and prehistory periods.

Also meet the Victorian archaeologists and learn about the early history of the science. Bring your finds along and get them identified or get to handle items and pottery from the Romans to the Victorians.

For the children there will be brass rubbing and archaeological craft making activities, including make a mammoth. They can also try cave painting.

Dr James Dilly, whom you may have seen on TV, will be smelting bronze age tools later in the week.

Epsom Racecourse Antiques and Collectables Fair


The next Antiques and Collectables Fair (under new management) is on Tuesday, 16th July and will include up to around 70 stands indoors, and some outside stands (weather dependant).

Admission is £3 only and there’s free parking. Early trade admission from 7am is £10 via the main gate. Open to the public 9.00am-3pm.

The Horton is running a series of family events over the summer kicking off with the Family Creative Mosaic Workshop on Tuesday, July 23rd (10.30am-11.30am). More information and booking here.

Epsom’s Oldest Road  – History Walk

The summer programme of fascinating guided history walks around Epsom and Ewell for all the family begins on Tuesday, 30th July (10am-11.30am) with an exploration of Epsom’s ancient heart along its oldest road.

Discover the oldest surviving residential building and the site of Epsom’s own brewery. See the parish church, mentioned in Domesday Book, and the grand houses once inhabited by Epsom’s lords and ladies. There are connections with Charles I and the owner of the Cedars bankrolled William of Orange’s invasion of England. Learn about Epsom’s educational past at the old Technical Institute building, and the importance of the fire station in World War 2. Oh yes, and a discover few ghosts!

At Little Saints Preschool

Little Saints Preschool’s Mini Beasts & Little Saints Go Wild weeks are a great hit with the children.

“Melting ice mini beasts, taking photos of items in nature, bark rubbing and making bird feeders. Lots of different crafts were made from items found in the park trip and our mud kitchen was a firm favourite!”
