This is an amazing achievement for East Surrey family run businesses!  The Family Network is a national initiative that runs networking meet ups for small businesses across the country. This is the 6th year they have hosted their National Business Awards and the East Surrey area has gone from 0 finalist last year to an amazing TEN this year!!!  I’m absolutely super pleased to be one of them and also to see some of the businesses listed on the Epsom and Ewell Families Directory reach the finals too, I know first hand just how much they deserve the recognition.

East Surrey Branch Leader Eleanor Richardson says of the awards:

“I am so proud and honoured to have so many amazing businesses within the East Surrey branch and to grow from no finalists last year to ten this year is amazing.  We had lots of very worthy nominations put forward this year and in some categories nominees were competing for a finalist space with over 150 other businesses”

The ten finalist are:

Product of the Year

JeanVanessa Germond of The Hair Helper
Candice Cholerton of My Busy Bots

Charity of the Year
Sophie Eastop-Scopes of Netmums Kingston upon Thames

Business Dad
Colin E Wells of Avalon Legal

Networker of the Year
Devenia Besant of Epsom and Ewell Families (oh that will be me!!!!)
Katy Brown of Rejuvenating Joy and Real Rebel

Business Growth
Christine Michele Murray of Complementary Therapies with Christine Michele Murray

Business Mum
Jaya Malani of Breech Lane Curry House
Kelly Smith of Boogie Monsters

Franchisee of the Year
Sarita Di Giovine of Tropic Skin Care Sarita
Stacey Cann of Daisy FirstAid

The awards ceremony is on Saturday the 23rd of March at DoubleTree Hilton (Docklands) in London where they will also be raising funds for Woman’s Aid on the night, a domestic abuse charity.

I’ll be sure to let you know how myself and the other Surrey finalist get on….wish me luck and good luck to all!  Lastly if you would like to network The Family Network – East Surrey meet on the last Friday of the month at the Toby Cavery, Ewell from 10am -12pm, the meet ups are FREE and I’m sure Eleanor and the rest will be pleased to see you.

Dee xx
