The countdown has officially begun! The community made the best of the situation last year, but it’s wonderful to have real-life Christmas and charity events back on this year.

Here’s a round up of what’s happening this month in and around the area.

Epsom Library 

Running until the 31st December, Epsom Library are having a buy one get one FREE.

Ewell Yule








Ewell Yule,’ the annual community Christmas event in Ewell Village, is taking place on Friday, December 3rd (5pm-8.30pm). Festive fun for all the family, there’ll be late night shopping, childrens’ rides, festive food and drink, live entertainment, raffles, a BBQ, the opportunity for Children to visit Santa and more.

The Heart & Soul Choir 

The Heart & Soul Choir are singing Christmas carols and raising funds in the area. Catch them at Ewell Yule on December 3rd; Epsom Town Centre, December 18th and the Barley Mow Pub, Epsom on December 19th.

Christmas at Hobbledown 

Hobbledown is opening its doors at night for a festive winter light trail most days between 3rd December – 3rd January. Children will get the chance to explore the secret world of the Hobblers after dark and explore amongst the magical lights and lanterns making up the illuminated trail leading around the park… and all while enjoying a festive hot chocolate or mince pie.

Ashtead Park Garden Centre

Christmas fun and fund-raising for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity 4th and 5th December and the 11th and 12th December.  Nativity animals, including gorgeous donkeys, goats, sheep and more will also be there between 11am-3pm on 4 & 5 December ONLY.   There will also be Magic Ponies both weekends between 11am and 2pm, offering short pony rides to children aged 2-9 years, £5 each.  There will be lots more festive fun 10am-4pm Christmas crafts, Gingerbread man hunt and face painting…for more information visit the website

Ewell Grove Christmas Fair

The Ewell Grove Christmas Fair will be running alongside Ewell Yule on Friday, 3rd December (4-6pm). There’ll be a Santa’s grotto, BBQ, games, raffles, tombolas and other fun festive activities.

Stoneleigh Broadway Christmas Trail 

On Saturday, December 4th (3-6pm), meet Father Christmas and follow a trail around Stoneleigh Broadway where you can visit shops to collect puzzle pieces to win a prize. There’ll also be a craft market, face paining, mulled wine, carol singing, games, art activities, food & drink and more. Further information on Stoneleigh Library‘s website.

SEN disco hosted by Focus Surrey

Focus Surrey is hosting a SEN-friendly disco for teenagers and young adults with SEN, and their families on Saturday, December 4th (7-9pm). The disco will take place at Frames Sports Bar in Coulsdon. The environment will be ASD friendly with lights up and noise levels down and no flashing lights. Let the organisers know what music you would like to hear and they’ll do their best to play at least one of each attendees favourite tunes.

All monies raised will go directly to Focus Surrey, a registered charity supporting families with Autistic children in Surrey and neighbouring local authorities. For more details and to book tickets go to:

Christmas Market – St. Mary’s Cuddington 

On Saturday, December 4th (11.00am to 2.30pm),  St. Mary’s Cuddington is hosting its Christmas market in the church hall and gardens. Peruse the cakes, gifts, plants, Christmas decorations, children’s items, jewellery, crafts and cards. There’ll be children’s activities, mulled wine, mince pies, light lunches and a raffle. Banstead Families Nearly New Sale

Ebbisham Sports Club – Christmas party  

On Saturday, 4th December (7pm-11pm), The Ebbisham Sports Club will be hosting its Christmas Party. Join them to celebrate the end of another great year of sport with an evening of music and dancing. Christmas Carols with Epsom Chamber

This event is taking place at Ewell Library Saturday 4th December from 11am.

Epsom and Ewell Silver Band 

The Epsom and Ewell Silver Band, in partnership with Cuddington Residents’ Association and Cuddington WI, is back for a Christmas Concert on Sunday, 5th December (7pm) at St. Mary’s Church in Worcester Park. Bourne Hall Kids Club 

On Saturday, 11th December (1pm to 2.30pm), Bourne Hall Kids Club is running a session on The South African War (Boer War), the first overseas war to have a measurable impact on life in Epsom and Ewell. The King’s Church – Carols by Candlelight 


The King’s Church in Epsom is holding a traditional carol service. ‘Carols by candlelight’ is happening on Sunday, 12th December. Details above. Check out their Facebook page for further news and more details of their Christmas services.

Grow Cook Enjoy – Teenage class

Your teen can learn how to make Christmas chocolate baubles during Grow Cook Enjoy‘s online lesson on Tuesday, December 14th (6:30pm – 7:30pm) as part of the Teenage Cooking Club programme. Christmas activities at The Hub 

On Friday, December 17th (10am-4pm),  The Hub cafe, situated in Sports Direct Fitness Epsom, is hosting activity sessions for little ones where they’ll be able to make their own ginger bread house. More details above and on the Facebook page.

Try-Sport Junior Christmas Camp

Ebbisham Sports Club is hosting its popular Try-Sports Junior Camps this December for children age 7-14 years old. Try-Sport Camps are an ideal introduction to a variety of different sports with qualified coaches, they’re an enjoyable way for children to start playing sport and feature coaching, team games and social activities. Aerial Tumbling Club

For the first time Aerial Tumbling Club are running Christmas Holiday Camps taking place on Monday 20th December and Tuesday 21st December. Free Christmas Meal at King’s Church 

The King’s Church, Epsom is offering free meals again this year to anyone who’s alone this Christmas or struggling to feed their families at what can be a difficult time. After their morning service on Christmas Day, the church will be open from 12.15 to 2.30pm for Christmas lunch. The Hub – NYE party

The Hub cafe, situated in Sports Direct Fitness Epsom, is inviting little ones to celebrate New Year’s Eve (11.30am-1pm) with party food, party games and lots of fun and dancing. There’ll even be a mini toast at midday! More details above and on the Facebook page.


The Elf Factory – The Horton Epsom 

Perfect for the festive season, this fun family friendly show with lots of aerial circus, is guaranteed to get little minds and bodies whirling and twirling and is being performed at the gorgeous new arts centre – The Horton Epsom.Shows run from 19th – 29th December and tickets are on sale now. Esher Theatre – Dear Santa Live 

From the author of the well-loved children’s book DEAR ZOO is Dear Santa, which is being performed live on stage 4th – 11th December at the Esher theatre.

The big man is determined to deliver the Christmas present to little hero Sarah. However, he doesn’t get it right straight away! With the help of his cheeky Elf, he finally settles on something ‘perfect’, just in time for Christmas Eve.

Epsom Playhouse – Beauty and the Beast

Panto is back at the Epsom Playhouse for 2021.  Running from the 12th December – 3rd January this year the creative team have worked their magic once again and present to you another ‘BEAUTY’ of a pantomime and Beauty & The Beast promises something for everyone.
