  1. “I’m so grateful to Mel. We had arranged a babysitter to look after my 20 month old in the weeks after I gave birth but it fell through without notice. I went online looking for a replacement and Mel contacted me with the option of having her work as a postnatal doula. This was a sort of fate situation, as a postnatal doula was really what I needed. I was experiencing anxiety, as my newborn son was suffering and in pain (turned out to be an milk allergy). Mel came a few nights a week and shared the sadness of watching him suffer and listened to me. This made it more bearable, but she also motivated me to keep pushing for medical help. She also kept my sweet toddler daughter supported. I feel so much stronger and more capable now and feel like Mel really helped me find my feet. She’s incredible, compassionate, knowledgeable, and wise. She has a ton of experience – professionally and personally. I definitely recommend her and would recommend anyone consider getting a doula. They walk with your family in a way that no one else really does.

Mel was well worth what she charged. I feel like a more capable, confident Mum now. I feel like she charged a reasonable rate. We don’t have a huge amount of money, but Mel provided an important service that I really think improved our whole family dynamic. So, it was worth the investment. It’s also worth emphasising that doulas aren’t just there for births but also postnatal and beforehand. Its a huge support. I would highly recommend it to anyone.”

  2. “Mel helped me to prepare for the birth of my first baby by teaching me the hypnobithing techniques by the wise hippo. Mel has 5 children herself, so with added experience made the whole experience invaluable.

Mel is calm, kind-hearted and is very knowledgable. Her passion about child birth and wanting the best for the mother and her unborn child was very comforting and knowing I had someone to talk too about my worries or concerns was brilliant. Mel also proved to be invaluable with post natal work and I’d like to use her services again for my next child.”

  3. “Mel was totally professional and lovely and with her encouragement and knowledge she supported me in having the most amazing birth. Mel’s support enabled me to be the best I could be and focus on the job in hand. I was able to prepare myself by having Mel on hand to talk things through with. She helped me mentally prepare.

It was an amazing birth that I look back on fondly!.”
