Kincorragh Academy of Irish Dance / Irish dancing lessons

The Kincorragh Academy was established in 1996 in Wimbledon, London. My name is Karleen Walker, I founded the academy and have been teaching for over 20 years. I am a fully qualified T.C.R.G registered with An Coimisiun enabling my dancers to compete in both competitions and official grade examinations. All instructors hold current full DBS checks.

Lessons are usually held in  Stoneleigh, Surrey where the academy are lucky to have the use of a small, personal dance studio where everything has been carefully thought out in order to give all dancers the best possible experience.

Come learn with the best at the Kincorragh Academy / School we teach children between the ages of 5 and 16 years old. Whether your focus is technique, flexibility or you’re just looking for a new way to work out, you can find it here. Explore our site for more information, and feel free to reach out with questions.

  1. “Kincorragh Irish Dance Academy taught both my daughters Irish Dancing from ages 5 to 18 years.

They both enjoyed going & learned different dances enabling them to compete competitively in Irish Dance Competitions (feiseanna). The older girl reaching the All Britains (a decider for world Championships). Both girls assisted Karleen with helping the younger pupils learn the dances as they got older. The older girl was so enthusiastic about Irish dancing found a class near her university to continue.

Karleen teaches the dances in the traditional correct way and doesn’t focus on the outward appearance of the dancers at competitions.

I have no hesitation in recommending Kincorragh Irish dance Academy as a fun way for children to keep fit with the option of competing in competitions if they wish.”

  3. “Kincorragh Irish Dance Academy is an excellent school.

My daughters have really enjoyed their Irish dancing lessons and have progressed so well.

The teacher is very thorough and teaches the basics well, so they have a really good grounding of a particularly technical style of dance. They build up on their knowledge and progress to more advanced steps in an orderly fashion. So they build on their confidence week by week. The girls become proficient in Irish dancing and enter and win competitions.

The classes are very good value for money and they are taught by a highly skilled teacher with a wealth of experience.

    I would highly recommend it.”
