Breech Lane Curry House / Indian Cookery School

My name is Jaya and I run a Home based Indian cookery school from Walton on the Hill (in Tadworth, Surrey).

If you enjoy Indian food and would like to learn to prepare delicious, healthy, home cooked Indian dishes using the best of ingredients, all from scratch, then come along to one of my cookery classes.

The classes are run in small groups of 4. Very hands on as you get to do everything from end to end, using my family recipes to prepare authentic homemade Indian food. You get to take home your dishes with enough for your family to try too.

Having received excellent feedback since I launched Breech Lane Curry House last year, on offer is an intimate experience with home cooked Indian food, right down to the spices used.

This experience can also be offered as a gift to your loved ones using the open ended gift vouchers for special occasions.

With classes running throughout the year, there are at least 6 types to choose from – from the ever popular Family Secrets class where we learn a starter/ side dish, main course curry and parathas to the Indian Street food/ bbq classses that are all about mastering a variety of different starters and marinades, dips and chutneys to the advanced courses such as learning traditional dum cooked Hyderabadi lamb biryani or the South Indian dosa, sambar and accompaniments session.

I also offer bespoke classes (one on one, classes for couples, friends and family) customised to suit your requirements. Other offerings include  cookery demonstrations, corporate team building cookery sessions, session from your home kitchen (if you are local), cookery cum catering sessions for parties and events.

  1. “It was an enjoyable evening attending a cookery course with Jaya. It was hands on, fun and informative but provided me with useful tips and insight. You can’t achieve all this following a recipe from a cook book. Great value for money as the sessions are well led and ingredients are provided and it’s great to have the opportunity to undertake the cooking and try the dishes created. Everyone receives the recipe sheets to recreate back home.

The classes are professional, enjoyable, fun and rewarding I highly recommend and can’t wait for an excuse to attend another course. The classes would also make a remarkable gift as Jaya is able to provide gift vouchers or even tailor a cookery course to meet requirements”

  2. “We had an extremely enjoyable evening with great company, learning about the recipes and ingredients in a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment. This service is excellent value for money, as Jaya has a wealth of knowledge and sources only food from local businesses.

A fabulous evening for Indian food lovers with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It’s also a bonus that you are able to purchase the delicious spices, made by Jaya.”

  3. “The cookery class was fantastic. A really enjoyable evening and I learnt how to cook recipes I would never have attempted on my own before, for fear of getting them wrong. Jaya (who runs the classes) is so passionate, engaging and encouraging.

This is a fantastic cookery class for learning new cooking skills with high quality ingredients and high quality teaching.”
