STAY POSITIVE – FACE BEHIND THE BUSINESS, WE PLASTER AND PAINT
Posted by Devenia Besant on 26 May 2020
⭐️ Tell us a bit about you and your business?
My name’s Alex of AR Plastering Services (We Plaster and Paint), I’m originally from Paris but arrived in the UK back in 2004, I am married with two children and live in Ewell.
I started We Plaster and Paint in May 2019 after working as a plasterer for an insurance company for 3 & 1/2 years. I’ve previously worked for building companies and trained to be a plasterer at Nescot 12 years ago whilst working for my father in law as a labourer. Before this I worked in the catering industry.
⭐️ What’s changed for your business since the outbreak of COVID-19?
When the lockdown was announced all my work ceased immediately. So I’ve been spending quality time with my family and our 8 month old springer spaniel pup! Being in lockdown has allowed me to finally tick off many jobs on my long to do list. I managed to plaster and paint our bedroom and build a vegetable patch in our garden, so my wife is happy!
I’ve been touched by the support that I’ve received from my family, friends and my clients since starting the business so I’m itching to get back to it.
⭐️ What are you looking forward to when lockdown is over?
From a personal point of view, like many, I can’t wait to see family & friends, but I’m not sure when I’ll see my loved ones in France yet. Soon hopefully.
From a business point of view, and once stock supplies start getting back to normal I’m eager to get back and finish or start the jobs that I had to postpone due to COVID-19. I’m also looking forward to seeing my clients again.
Being away from work has allowed me time to focus and concentrate on where I want my business to be in the next 12 or so months, which hopefully I can achieve after such a tough few months.
⭐️ Lastly, what’s your positive message to help others through this?
My Positive message would be to always take time to reflect and be thankful for what you have. Times may be tough right now but with the right attitude and support from those around you anything can be overcome and achieved.
I’d like to take this opportunity to say Thank you to the members of the Epsom and Ewell Families group for your support and I hope to see some of you soon should you need any plastering and painting work carried out.
