STAY POSITIVE – FACE BEHIND THE BUSINESS, YO-SARNIE
Posted by Devenia Besant on 30 Apr 2020
⭐ Tell us a bit about you and your business?
I’m Jason, a local Dad of 2 that opened the doors to our local based Deli Yo Sarnie Epsom just over 2 years ago. The aim has always been to give the ultimate sandwich experience by producing a menu that is different from the norm. 🥪
Sandwich filling favourites are Uncle P’s Jerk Chicken, Steak, Pork Belly and Garlic & Herb Chicken. Before “Lock Down” we had been opening our doors every Friday night for an evening titled “Fab Friday” serving hearty bistro food, wine, music and good vibes.
⭐ What’s changed for your business since the outbreak of Covid-19?
EVERYTHING – we had a shopfront whereby people could come and go, now we have a delivery service. We changed our standing orders with suppliers to provide an immediate service to neighbours in need of food.
So the business has gone from serving the ultimate sandwich and salad experience to delivering essential fruit and vegetables, bread and meat.
We like to think we’ve been able add value to the local community by shifting our focus to suit needs now.
⭐ What are you looking forward to when lock down is over?
Simply – celebrating with food and drink! We can’t wait to open our door again to our loyal and new customers, serving what we are good at – sandwiches 😊
⭐ Lastly what’s your positive message to help others through this?
Don’t judge others and don’t stress. During this time live and let live, we’re all doing our bit to get through it.
I personally can’t wait to visit when this is all over for a Jerk Chicken & Halloumi salad.
See you soon…
