STAY POSITIVE- FACE BEHIND THE BUSINESS, TAM’S CAKES & COOKIES
Posted by Devenia Besant on 29 Apr 2020
⭐️ Tell us a bit about you and your business?
I’m Tammy I own Tam’s Cakes & Cookies based in Banstead, I make bespoke cakes and cookies to order.
⭐️ What’s changed for your business since the outbreak of Covid-19?
My business has changed massively since the outbreak. I normally make large celebration cakes, initially I first stopped baking completely but I then decided that following government guidelines I could operate as a delivery service and changed my offering to afternoon tea boxes for two or more and small celebration cakes for those celebrating birthdays during lock down.
I’ve also found great comfort in baking for the NHS staff at Epsom General, it’s been an absolute pleasure with the help of donations to give back to those that are working so hard at this time.
When the government announced they needed volunteers to help the NHS I applied as soon as I could. I knew I wanted to do more to help and this meant I could.
⭐️ What are you looking forward to when lock down is over?
I’m looking forward to seeing friends and family when this is all over and of course returning to baking in a larger capacity for birthdays, weddings, christenings and any special occasion. 🧁🍰
⭐️ Lastly what’s your positive message to help others through this?
The smallest deed is better than the biggest intention.
Baking for the NHS has made me realise this, I have thoroughly enjoyed being able to give back in some way. 😊
Well done Tammy 🙌
