STAY POSITIVE – FACE BEHIND THE BUSINESS – MULBERRY & THYME LUXURY HAIR

⭐️ Tell us a bit about you and your business?
I started Mulberry &Thyme Luxury Hair in October 2016, I saw a great opportunity and decided to just go for it.
I started hairdressing from a young age of around 14 where I started as a Saturday girl, sweeping up and make cups of tea as I wanted to know If this was the career for me, and of course it was. Following on from that I worked alongside Daniel Galvin who is a famous colour expert in the industry, I also worked in many different areas such as barbering, fashion cuts and colour, hair up and many more.
When I set up Mulberry &Thyme Luxury Hair I wanted to achieve a trendy, classy and relaxing atmosphere for people to come in to. I have chosen to stock all natural and cruelty free products as this is very important to me and I wanted to share my love of the quality to my customers, making sure my customers hair is in the best health possible.
I love making sure that my customers are as relaxed as possible so I chose to enhance our services further by adding complemantry head, neck and shoulder rituals and for any customers having a colour service will receive a complemantry hand ritual.
We provide alcoholic and non-alcholic beverages, a choice of many different types of teas and coffees and also cold beverages.
Mulberry &Thyme Luxury Hair definitely does it’s best to keep everyone happy and wanting to return.
⭐️ Whats changed for your business since the outbreak of covid-19 ?
Well as we are a hair salon, we have to be in very close contact with each of our customers therefore we couldn’t take any risks even though we was making sure the cleanliness was at its highest standard. We unfortunately was given the heads up and had to close the salon as advised by the government, this was a very sad time for myself and my team as we interact daily with people and knew we was unable to see our customers for quite some time.
Mulberry & Thyme work with people from all ages, people who travel for work and pleasure, people, who teach, care and many other front line occupations. This is hard for us as a team because keeping the safety of myself, my staff and my customers is very important.
We will have to make many changes once the salon is back open and running. I am trying my best to work out the best ways to keep everyone safe with social distance and to stop any spread within my salon while keeping the level of Luxury at its highest.
We are still active on social media, I am personally showing my customers me on a personal level and above all trying to help them make sure they are maintaining the condition of there hair in the best way possible, I am also providing a home delivery service within a certain radius.
⭐️ What are you looking forward to when lockdown is over?
On a personal level I am most excited about being able to see my family and friends, I cant wait to get my high heels out put some fancy eye-make up on and go for a scrumming meal and of course cocktails… I say heels and make-up because who knows if im even going to fit into any of my clothing once this is all over.
On a professional level I am really looking forward to getting my team back together, get the motivation going for all of us to make Mulberry & Thyme bounce back as it will and should.
I am excited to see all of my customers that have been so very missed and I am craving to make all of your dire roots disappear as us hairdressers do best, and with that hopefully putting smiles on everyone who comes in.
⭐️ What’s your positive message to help others through this?
We all know this is a hard time for everyone and most of us feel lost, have good and bad days, including myself.
The day will come where we can carry out our normal daily activities and go about our business without worry. In the meantime all we can do is take the advice given to us, keep ourselves active, try and learn a new skill if possible, stay healthy (mind, body and soul) stay connected with loved ones.
