STAY POSITIVE – FACE BEHIND THE BUSINESS, GOOD EVENING
Posted by Devenia Besant on 09 May 2020
⭐️ Tell us a bit about you and your business?
Sure! My name is Sudesh, an Epsom College Ward resident for the last 16 years, married with a teenage son. I started Good Evening just over a year ago which has certainly proved to be a very busy year and a lot of fun! I specialise in Indian Food with a difference. I have taken traditional recipes I learnt growing up and given them my own special twist, using locally sourced all fresh ingredients. I run regular supper clubs / private dining from my home and also provide cooking classes and cater for small events.
⭐️ What’s changed for your business since the outbreak of Covid-19?
As with many others, the lockdown has meant that my core business has gone on hold and I have had to adapt to the current situation. Supper clubs and catering events cannot happen for the time being and so I have switched my focus to batch cooking food for families in the local area who are looking for relief from always having to cook for themselves.
As part of my batch cooking I am also providing, along with other local chefs, food to the front-line workers (heroes) at our NHS. After getting the idea from catering for an online birthday party, I am now also moving my cooking lessons to virtual classrooms.
⭐️ What are you looking forward to when lock down is over?
I’m really looking forwards to seeing friends and family again and resuming my supper clubs and in person cooking lessons.
⭐️ Lastly what’s your positive message to help others through this?
Look after others. We are all going through this together and one great thing about this is it has brought our local community closer to each other. Be kind and help others.
This won’t last forever so make the days count, don’t count the days.
I look forward to seeing you soon Sudesh 🙂
