STAY POSITIVE – FACE BEHIND THE BUSINESS, CAROLINE THORNTON PHOTOGRAPHY
Posted by Devenia Besant on 30 May 2020
⭐️ Tell us a bit about you and your business?
Hi, I’m Caroline also known as Cazza of Caroline Thornton Photography , I’m an Epsom mother to two girls and wife to just the one husband 😊.
I launched CTP in 2015, specialising in relaxed family shoots, wedding photography, corporate work, and personal branding.
I’m passionate about capturing natural moments and telling a story, not just providing two-dimensional pictures – I like to think that my sessions have more depth to them than that, whether it’s fun families, a romantic or the DNA of a business, I look to capture character.
So, for me it’s crucial to get to know my clients, through consultations and calls. You can’t capture the essence of someone if you’ve never met them. It’s not just about taking a picture, there is much more to the job than that, and I truly love every minute. And I like to think that all my clients, feel relaxed and enjoy the experience – it’s not every day you book a photographer, and that should shine through.
⭐️ What’s changed for your business since the outbreak of Covid-19?
To be frank, it has been hard – April and May were full booked with weddings, family shoots and Communion celebrations, as well as branding work. But of course, none of that compares to the clients that have had their celebrations disrupted, particularly the weddings, so I am so sorry for them and anyone who has been seriously affected by Covid.
Business-wise, my customers have been supportive, and a lot of work has been rescheduled. It has been very encouraging to see so much promised support for local businesses once the coronavirus crisis has passed – I know I’ll be doing my bit.
What this period has given me is time to drill-down with my marketing and business plans and to learn some new techniques – I believe we should always be looking to learn.
⭐️ What are you looking forward to when lock down is over?
I am looking forward to hugging all my family, working again (obviously) and having a pint in the Barley Mow!
⭐️ Lastly, what’s your positive message to help others through this?
This has been priceless time with my family, spending days together, lazy breakfasts, cooking and cuddles. We will genuinely never have this time again. Whatever situation we find ourselves in, we must find the positives, grow and be kind. There is only one way we can move and that is forward.
Stay well, stay active and be happy.
