Tell us a bit about you and your business?

I’m Matt and I own AEI Electrical (Ayley’s Electrical Installations). We offer an electrical service to all domestic and commercial customers in Epsom and surrounding areas. I’m really pleased that we have built the business through positive customer reviews and a high standard of work at a reasonable price.

What’s changed for your business since the outbreak of Covid-19?

We have had to restructure our business and unfortunately furlough some staff.

Although work has slowed down a bit we have continued to work following the government guidelines. We have also had a lot of work through the NHS due to the current situation and it’s a pleasure to do so at this time. The team have also offered to utilise our spare time to help the vulnerable and elderly with the everyday tasks they may now not be able to do. This includes collecting groceries or any other necessities that may not be accessible. We want to help where we can.

What are you looking forward to when lock down is over?

Seeing family and friends again. Being able to go out for dinner and a drink and giving my mum a cuddle. 🤗

Also last year we did some work free of charge for the Epsom & Ewell Foodbank and Jigsaw4u charities and we hope to do more charity work as soon as it is possible.

Lastly what’s your positive message to help others through this?

Colonel Tom Moore, what more inspiration do we all need and his words on his birthday were so positive and poignant:

“You’ve all got to remember that we will get through it in the end, it will all be right,” he said. “For those of you that are finding it difficult, the sun will shine on you again and the clouds will go away” 💙
