As an ex beauty therapist, I’m always on the lookout for new salons and spas to experience.  On Wednesday I had the pleasure of visiting the Spa Experience within Epsom’s newly reopened Rainbow Centre.  Located upstairs this secluded sanctuary was just what I needed after having another week of juggling children and working during the summer holidays.

I was welcomed by my lovely therapist, Paige (who was fully PPEd) she advised me to sanitise my hands and make myself comfortable in the seating area of the beautifully decorated reception.  The smell of essential oils instantly brought me back to my therapist days whilst I filled out my client form. I couldn’t wait to have my treatment.

Paige walked me through to the treatment room which was dimly lit to aid relaxation.  There were beautiful aromatherapy candles and meditative music playing softly in the back ground.  Paige explained the treatment which I was having, a 30 minute back massage and checked again if I had any issues with my back or concerns.  She then left the room while I got ready for my treatment.

The treatment couch was adorned with soft, luxurious towels, these are changed between each client. As I lay facing down I nearly drifted off there and then!

Paige started off with a relaxation technique to help me switch off and then applied warm massage oil onto my skin.
I was in heaven!  The massage was amazing and thorough I soon realised how many knots I had in my shoulders, I didn’t want the treatment to end.

Once the treatment had finished, Paige brought me some water and applied a beautiful energising gel to my shoulders to help reduce muscular fatigue or inflammation. This I felt was a lovely touch as it helped to energise you after a very relaxing treatment.

The aftercare was exceptional, Paige advised me to have a 15 minute soak in the bath later that evening and to continue to drink lots of water.

After drifting back into reception Paige showed me around the beautiful spa which includes a relaxation room, a sauna and a room dedicated purely for waxing.

Paige explained that the business has had to adapt massively in light of COVID-19. Including:

  • Hand sanitizer on arrival.
  • 15 minutes between clients to allow for room change over and clean.
  • All therapists wearing PPE including visors and disposable aprons.
  • No product testers.
  • Sauna area and relaxation area closed until reviewed.
  • Clients to wear face masks until they are in treatment room.

For the time being they have set opening times with reduced staff to minimise the risk of too many people in one area.

With all these safety measures in place I felt comfortable and confident to visit the spa on a regular basis. The array of treatments are similar to what you would receive in a London spa without having to travel in and without the price tag!

Massage treatments start from £31
The products used are Elemis and La Sultane De Saba which are both amazing product ranges.

Currently group spa hire is unavailable but this will be reviewed constantly in line with government guidelines.
