SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE – TOP 8 PICKS @ THE EPSOM PLAYHOUSE…

Happy New Year! 🎉

If you’re anything like me, you’ll be keen to fill up the diary in 2022. Epsom Playhouse has plenty scheduled for the start of the year and has a great mixture of family-friendly shows, music and magic.

Here are our 8 picks, which promise something for everyone.

1. All Star Superslam Wrestling – Over The Top Rope – King of The Ring

Date: Friday, 14th January (7.30pm) 
It promises to be an evening of non-stop action when the heroes and villains of All Star Superslam Wrestling meet in a giant Over the Top Rope – King of The Ring. Anything goes as the wrestlers battle for supremacy.

A King of The Ring match features all the wrestlers in the ring from the beginning. The last man standing in the ring will be crowned the King of The Ring.

2. Legend – Music of Bob Marley

Date: Saturday, 22nd January (7.30pm) 

🇯🇲 Bob Marley is reggae! Epsom Playhouse is celebrating the musical icon with a one-off, two hour spectacular. The stage show extravaganza combines the legend’s amazing vocals with flawless musicianship, and a supremely talented cast. They’ll recreate his timeless hits including: Could You Be Loved, Is This Love, One Love, No Woman No Cry, Three Little Birds, Jammin’, Buffalo Soldier, Get Up Stand Up, I Shot the Sheriff  and many more reggae classics.

3. Close Up Magic at The Playhouse Jan 2022

Date: Saturday, 22nd January (7.30pm) 

Prepare to be amazed during an intimate evening of close up magic, trickery and sleight of hand. Close Up Magic is one of the most impressive forms of the art and this unique format returns to the Playhouse and showcases some of the best and most skilful exponents.

Experience the magic in an informal, close up setting witnessing the impossible from only inches away;  perhaps even take part yourself!

4. Sun Records The Concert

Date: Friday, 28th January (7.30pm) 

The legendary record label that brought us artists such as Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Carl Perkins and Rufus Thomas, and hits such as That’s Alright Mama, Great Balls of Fire, I Walk the Line, Whole Lotta Shakin’, Bear Cat, Blue Suede Shoes, Good Rockin’ Tonight is brought to life live on stage. The show will see you revisit the recording studio where that distinctive sound was crafted from gospel, blues, hillbilly, country, boogie and western swing by musical visionary Sam Phillips.

Featuring the musical instruments of the era, starring a multi-talented cast of singers and a supporting cast of amazing musicians, you’ll step back into the birthplace of rock’n’roll at Epsom Playhouse.

5. Mercury 2022

Date: Saturday, 12th February (7.30pm) 

Mercury, one of the world’s most authentic tribute bands to Freddie Mercury and Queen, will be performing the most popular Queen hits such as Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga, We Are The Champions, We Will Rock You and many more. This award-winning stage show has been wowing audiences with its spectacular costumes and world class production.

Expect amazing lead singing together with excellent musicianship, beautiful harmonies and intricate guitar work.

6.Milkshake Live! Milkshakes’ Monkey’s Musical

Date: Sunday, 13th February (shows at 12pm and 3.30pm) 

This brand-new, all-singing, all-dancing live show promises plenty of fun, laughter and audience interaction and is bound to get everyone up on their feet.

Monkey is joined by some of his favourite Milkshake! friends (Paddington, Daisy & Ollie, Milo, Noddy, Pip and Posy, Blue’s Clues & You) plus two Milkshake Presenters to create a fun-filled show.

Learn the songs and dances and watch as the music, the lights, the costumes and the stage bring Milkshake! to life.

7. Fastlove – Everything She Wants Tour 2022

 

Date: Friday 18th, February (7.30pm) 

Direct from London’s West End, this show pays tribute to the incredible music and life of the amazingly talented George Michael.

Fastlove is touring in 18 countries and has sold over 250,000 tickets. Now you can join for one special night to celebrate the late, great George Michael.

A stunning production with full video and light show, you’ll hear all the hits from his glittering career from Wham right through to his most recent work, including: Wake me up, Too Funky, Father Figure, Freedom 90, Faith, Knew you were Waiting, Careless Whisper and many more.

8. The Greatest Magician

Date: Wednesday 2nd, March (7.30pm) 

A dazzling new magic show presented by the magician most famous for jamming the BBC switchboards as he correctly predicted the lottery.

Directed by the late Paul Daniels, this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ rated magic show comes to the stage for the first time.
