We know it’s only October, but…

If you’re planning to take your children to see the big man in red, then you you need to get in there quick as slots get filled at lightening speed. Here’s our round up of great places to see Father Christmas both locally and further afield. Ho, ho, ho!

Chessington Garden Centre – Santa’s Christmas Wonderland 2022 

Take a magical walk through Chessington Garden Centre’s Christmas Wonderland. Your journey will start with a short, animated film to get you into the Christmas spirit. From there you’ll start your adventure. Each room features a different theme to take you through a journey of magic and wonder. Then you’ll get your very own private visit with Father Christmas in his own cosy cabin alongside his very own elves.

Starts from Saturday, November 19th.

Child tickets: £18.50 to £20.00, Adult: £5.00 to £5.50 and Family ticket: £47.00 to £50.00

Chessington World of Adventures – Winter’s Tail 

Chessington World of Adventures  Winter’s Tail returns on selected dates between and including 26th November – 3rd January.

There’s plenty of magic for the whole family with winter thrills on a selection of the rides and attractions and the opportunity to  wish the resident animals a Merry Christmas. Anyone visiting Winter’s Tail up to 24th December will be guaranteed to meet Father Christmas.

“Guided by one of his jolly elves, you’ll make your way deep into a snowy wonderland before stepping foot into Father Christmas’ charming grotto where your group will enjoy a private audience with the big man himself. After, you’ll head on over to his top secret Toy Workshop where you will explore where he builds all his wonderful gifts for the big day… and children will even receive an early Christmas gift!”

Bocketts Farm ParkUploaded image

Enjoy a magical and festive family day out at Bocketts Farm including a visit to meet Father Christmas in his traditional workshop at Bocketts Farm Park between 24th November – 24th December. Children hop on board the Santa Express trailer where elves will take them on a short journey to their traditional workshop. They’ll then be invited to meet Father Christmas in his magical grotto. Each child receives a special golden coin to spend in his toy shop.

The Station – Breakfast with Santa 

Head to The Station pub in Stoneleigh to have breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 10th (10am-12pm). Children will get the opportunity to have their photo taken with Santa in the grotto and then it’s into the dining room for breakfast and some festive arts and crafts where you’ll meet the Grinch. There’s also a festive chocolate selection!

£6 per child and includes a donation to Macmillan Cancer Support.

The Derby Arms – Brunch with Santa 2022

Santa’s returning to The Derby Arms pub on Sunday, 11th December and Sunday 18th December and you and your children can see him during your festive brunch visit.

Brunch with Santa is £15.95 per adult (includes a hot drink, breakfast juice and brunch dish) and £9.95 per child (includes a breakfast juice, brunch dish and treats from Santa).

Tulley’s Farm – Tulley’s Family Christmas 2022 

This Christmas experience is set within the beautiful woodland grounds of Tulleys Farm and offers a large range of activities.

Father Christmas at Godstone Farm 

Godstone Farm sees the return of Father Christmas and his friendly Elves on selected dates between December 3rd and December 24th (inclusive).

A visit to the big man in his cosy grotto (where you’ll get the chance to explore his office and the controls for the sleigh!) includes the choice of a toy from his charming toy shop, gingerbread decorating plus all day entry to the farm including the indoor playbarn and animal interaction barn.

Ticket Prices: 

  • Adult 16+ – £12.45
  • Child (2-16 Years) – £30.00
  • Child (Under 2 Years) – £24.00
  • Child (Under 1 if present is required) – £18.95

 Santa’s Sitting Room – The Leatherhead Institute

Head to Santa’s Sitting Room in Leatherhead Friday 16th and Saturday 24th December for something rather different. This unique grotto and theatrical experience embraces the true and magical atmosphere of Christmas past. Your children will spend quality time with Santa in a beautiful antique set, and get to sign Santa’s big red visitors’ book. Every child receives a hand wrapped gift appropriate to their age.

“This is a treasured event from a bygone era which will send both children and adults home with the true warmth of Christmas.”

Recommended for ages nine months to 14 years.

£16.00 per child (age 9 months upwards)  – 2 free adults per child booking.

Dobbies Garden Centre 

Enter the snowy forest where an elf will guide you past the reindeer and rabbits as you walk towards Santa’s toyshop.  Along the way you can help the elves with various tasks including helping to pack the toys in the sleigh for Santa.

Then you’ll meet Santa himself where you can have a chat before receiving a special gift (age-appropriate). The event runs from November 24th until December 24th. Go here for booking and price details. There is also Santa’s quiet grotto, which is for children with additional needs. Ashtead Park Garden Centre – Santa’s Icy Igloo 


Help Santa raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity by visiting him for a chat in his cosy but icy igloo on Saturday, 3rd and Sunday, 4th December. Head down for the Festive Fun Weekend for a chat, photos and of course an early Christmas gift.

Lots more fun to be had at festive weekend too (these activities don’t need to be booked in advance)

The Olive Tree will be open for festive treats, and local choirs will be popping in to sing up some Christmas cheer!

Ashtead Park Garden Centre – Cookies with Santa

On Monday, 5th, 12th and 19th December your child can join Santa for an exclusive chat in The Olive Tree! Enjoy a warming hot chocolate and a yummy cookie, then take your turn to meet Santa and receive a pre-Christmas gift. A donation will be made to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity for every child’s ticket sold.

Legoland at Christmas

If you’re after a whole day experience then look no further than Legoland. The festive event (26th November – 3rd January) transforms the park into a winter wonderland complete with twinkling lights, snow dusted trees and Father Christmas roaming the park on the back of his magical sleigh. There are over 24 rides plus live shows and attractions (including LEGO Make and Takes and a fun DUPLO Puppet pantomime) for the whole family to enjoy.
