What is Robofun?

RoboFun is Enhancing STEAM provision through Robotic Engineering clubs and courses for children aged 4+.

Pupils enjoy early exposure to coding and programming – the local classes develop problem-solving skills, teamwork, and confidence.

Lego Festival

Last week Robofun held their very first Lego Festival at Epsom Methodist Church and I was super chuffed to be asked along as a judge.  The morning was great fun with the 5 teams presenting their creations for an award.

Awards included:

– The Challenge Solution Award
– The Coding Award
– The Core Values Award
– The Team Poster Award
– The Team Model Award

It was so lovely to listen to the children talk through why and how they made their lego creations, what they learned about the challenge, what skills they learned from each other and how they coded etc.  Myself and the other 3 judges were so impressed with the children’s confidence and enthusiasm, their clear and concise presenting skills and how they worked together in a team – it really made our job as judges easy because they were all so good, all 5 teams went home with a medal and certificate.

Next year we hope to make the festival bigger as it was enjoyed by all.
