Restaurant Review: Everest Spice, Epsom…

This week we were lucky enough to be invited to Everest Spice in Epsom to sample their newly released menu. Based in Epsom Square the restaurant proudly offers an enticing fusion of Indian culinary traditions. Fantastic for those who may prefer a noodle over rice, or dumplings over Samosa’s.
The restaurant has been a popular spot for many over the years but this year has seen them mix up the menu a bit to give a broader tasting experience. Welcomed by the very friendly Tanmay, he talked us through the dishes, their origin and gave us some helpful advice on choosing a selection of dishes.
To start we chose the traditional Chicken Momo (Lamb also available) – this is a dumpling, a very popular street food in North India and is served with dipping sauces, along with a what they call Indo-Chinese combo of Chilli Paneer (Cheese) served with Onion and Pepper.
For mains we decided to share a Non Veg Grill Platter (Chicken tikka, malai chicken, lamb chops, lamb sheekh kebab and king prawns) alongside a Vegetable Biryani. Ive got to say, there was plenty of food and we came home with some for the day after 🙂
The restaurant caters incredibly well for Vegetarians too with an equally impressive array of dishes available – in fact no fewer that 25 vegetarian dishes to choose from.
The food and service was just as we would expect and clearly from the people dining around us, they have a regular customer base.
So if you fancy an Indian dish but also fancy mixing it up with a touch of Asia it is well worth giving it a try. We both returned suitably full!
