OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW – EPSOM AND EWELL…

Epsom has always had that bustling market town energy, for me; and because of that, I’m never really surprised when I find that things are changing.

Well, last week I WAS surprised to spot the branding for two new shops in The Ashley Centre. And the rumblings of a third one coming too. If you’ve not seen, The Ashley Centre has currently got four new retail spaces being worked on.

Primark, which is due to open in early 2025. And Rituals, Oliver Bonas and ProCook planning to open over the next few months… I’d noticed a few people, on social media, asking about what the shops offer, so here is some info:

Rituals is a home and body brand ‘dedicated to sustainable and personal wellbeing in the luxury beauty industry’. The products are of a natural origin and are ‘inspired by ancient wisdom and traditions’.

Expect: luxury skincare products, treats for the body and home, and gorgeous gift sets.

Oliver Bonas has been one of my favourite shops from the first day I stepped foot into their teeny tiny branch in Wimbledon. It is an independent British lifestyle store. I always find something new, quirky, or wonderful in OB stores.

Expect: fashion, jewellery, homeware and gifts.

ProCook is the ‘UK’s leading direct-to-consumer specialist kitchenware brand’. The focus is on high-quality products for the kitchen at competitive prices.

Expect: top-notch cookware, kitchen accessories and tableware.

And if new shops don’t excite you. Some fantastic new restaurants are coming to Epsom and Ewell too. You may have seen the branding on the windows of the old Bill’s restaurant on South Street.

• Diba Restaurant is coming to Epsom to serve up authentic Persian cuisine (‘vibrant feasts of spices and herbs cooked with fresh British produce.’)
• Mimoza Bar & Kitchen has just opened its doors in Ewell Village. ‘Your ultimate destination for authentic Turkish cuisine.’ Dee visited this week and said that the food was great!
• Mercy Kitchen and Juice Bar has opened at the Horton Retail Centre. Jamaican & African Cuisine as well as fresh smoothies and juices.

And there is a sign in Ewell Village for a new Thai restaurant, coming soon.

I am so excited about all the wonderful new additions to our beautiful area. Which one are you most excited for?
