LOVE IT OR HATE IT – PRIMARK IS FINALLY OPENING IN EPSOM…

Posted by Devenia Besant on 05 Mar 2026

It feels like it’s been years in the making (and it literally has), but Primark is finally opening its doors in Epsom on 25th March at 10am in the Ashley Centre.

Whether you love it or hate it, this is a big moment for our town centre.

Personally, I see it as a positive step for Epsom. A major retailer like Primark has the potential to bring more footfall into the town, which in turn can benefit many other local businesses. More visitors means more people stopping for coffee, lunch, dinner or drinks, and hopefully exploring some of the brilliant independent businesses we already have here.

With increased footfall, our hospitality sector could thrive even more, and it may also encourage other retailers to consider opening in Epsom.

At the moment, our clothing options are fairly limited. Aside from Next, TK Maxx, JD Sports, Marks & Spencer, Sports Direct, and more recently Oliver Bonas, there isn’t a huge amount of choice when it comes to fashion in the town centre.

Many people still mention missing stores like H&M and New Look, so perhaps this could be the start of seeing some favourites return.

And while we’re dreaming… Zara, if you’re listening, please take note 😉

It would also be fantastic to see more independent boutiques join the mix too, creating a balance of big brands and unique local shops that really make a town centre special.

For now, though, it will certainly be interesting to see the buzz Primark brings when it opens its doors later this month.

One thing’s for sure — Epsom will be talking about it.
