I love a trip to the theatre and a local visit even more, I must say that when Little Women at the Epsom Playhouse started I was dubious as to how the multiple characters were going to be played by just one.  But Hannah Churchill captivated each character so beautifully – effortlessly changing (so completely) from one character to the next. I was absolutely spellbound.

The relationship between Hannah’s characters, particularly Jo, and Laurie (played by Reece Webster), the musician, is palpable and charming.  I loved the balance of story, dance and musical interludes. And the set was beautifully visualised too.

I had forgotten how emotional the book and film made me – but the emotion that I felt watching this show was a hundred times stronger. I can, hand on heart, say that I’ve never watched a show like Little Women. And I think Hannah might be the most talented performer I’ve ever seen live.

Wake-Up Call is a show about revelations, realisations and epiphanies – both large and small. Subjects covered include: Bin collection schedules, the novels of Jean Rhys, cats, school fair booze tombolas, the Scottish Enlightenment, pressure washers and Huel. It’s an exuberant, silly show with some wisdom sprinkled on top.

Superslam Wrestling April 2023

All Star Superslam Wrestling are back with a second visit to The Playhouse where any unsettled disputes on their previous visit will be settled once and for all.

It promises to be another rip-roaring feast of non-stop action when the giants of the ring return with a two-hour spectacle that will have you booing the villains and cheering on the good guys.

Special Meet and Greet packages will be available on the night where you can meet the stars up-front and in person. It’s not to be missed.

Rang Dhvani – The Sounds of Colour

Subrang Arts collaborates with Bharartiya Vrund Gaan and explores the colours of emotions (Rasas) that can be experienced in the sweet sound of Indian music – from the vibrant folk sounds of Holi, the heavenly sounds of monsoon, the devotional sound of bhakti to the soul stirring romantic songs of Radha and Krishna.
