Lavender Days: A Decade of Memories at Mayfield Lavender Farm…
Posted by Francesca De Franco on 05 Jun 2025
I love seeing a beautiful display of nature and love even more combining this with a family day out. That’s one of the reasons that we’ve been visiting and making memories at Mayfield Lavender Farm for the last 10 years. We were bowled over by its natural beauty when we first visited in 2015 and have gone every year since.
It’s re-opening for the 2025 season on Saturday, 14th of June, so it seems the perfect time to tell you more (and reminisce) about this idyll.
Mayfield Lavender Farm – Banstead, Surrey
This family-run, 25-acre gem is right on our doorstep in Banstead and is the only certified organic lavender farm in the UK. There’s something very special, almost magical, about strolling through rows and rows of gorgeous, fragrant lavender and being immersed in nature, and it’s wonderful to let the kids run free.
A few pics from over the years
As well as being a lovely family experience (well-behaved dogs are also welcome), it is also a great place to capture some beautiful photos and is an Instagrammers paradise! There are plenty of photo opportunities including the iconic red telephone box, tractor, and heart-shaped bench, set amid the spectacular flowers. You can also see the farm from a different perspective when you take a ride on Looby Loo their cute tractor train.
Over the years, we have loved doing the bee trails and rosemary beetle hunts. My eldest still got involved last year (at 15) as we scavenged for, and collected in jars, the pests that eat the foliage and flowers of the lavender. I also very much enjoyed their Paella and Prosecco evening – one of the many special events they’ve put on over the years.
As well as experiencing the natural wonder you can also enjoy a range of cakes, light bites, beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and lavender treats, including its signature lavender cream tea at its main café by the entrance or grab a coffee or snack from the very funky airstream café, which is set amongst the lavender. Of course, no trip would be complete without a stop-off at the onsite shop to pick up some lavender and lavender-scented and infused gifts and goodies!

Lavender season is highly weather-dependent. While the farm will be open from 14th June to 17th August, Mayfield Lavender Farm cannot guarantee precisely when the lavender will be at its peak. However, the lushest, most vibrant colours are typically seen in July to early August.
The Secret Lavender Garden – Epsom

I’ve had a sneak peek at Mayfield Lavender’s Secret Lavender Garden at its Epsom site. It will be amazing when in bloom and I can’t wait to see it in its full glory from Saturday, June 21st. Find out more and book tickets here.
Enjoy!
