Having not grown up in the UK with the panto tradition, I was initially quite nervous about attending my first panto years ago, but I have well and truly fallen in love with Spillers Pantomimes, performed yearly at Epsom Playhouse. And this year is no different (I think this one might even be the best one yet)!

The music – a mix of the traditional soundtrack and modern favourites – was perfect, the script was brilliant, the panto tricks and traditions had everyone joining in; and as always, the show created a real sense of fun and community, something we all need right now. Plus, the staging was fantastic!

Ricky Groves provided ‘light’ comedy throughout the show in his role as Lumi, and he was joined by the most talented cast of performers: Francesca as beautiful Belle, Jamie as the crazy inventor Maurice, Mathew as the angry (but also kind) Beast, Titus Rowe as Bouffy (woof! 💪), the lovable Georgina as Le Fou, and the brilliant ensemble cast of local singers and dancers.

I laughed a lot, I cried and I TikTok danced (I never thought that I’d say that… EVER!) but most of all, I was taken on the loveliest nostalgic journey to my own childhood with a lot of present-day fun, making it the perfect show for the whole family.

Ticket prices are from £15.50 to £23.50 and are now on sale at The Epsom Playhouse’s website.
