A Day Out at Kidspace Croydon with Stanley

Some days as a parent just call for energy, chaos, and a place where your child can let loose and for us, that place turned out to be Kidspace in Croydon.

I took Stanley there recently, and from the moment we walked in, I could tell this wasn’t your average soft play.

Kidspace is massive around 30,000 square feet of pure kid chaos in the best way. Within minutes, Stanley was off darting between rope bridges, climbing frames, and disappearing into a maze of colour and noise, the kind of place where kids instantly feel free.

What makes it stand out is just how much there is to do. You’ve got things like:

• Mini go-karts
• A climbing wall
• The huge multi-level play frame (The Orb)
• Soft ball arenas and cannons
• Slides, tunnels, and rope bridges everywhere
• A toddler village for the little ones
• Even interactive areas like drawing and sand play

It’s basically an adventure park indoors, not just a soft play.

For Stanley, it was pure joy. No screens, no distractions just running, climbing, laughing, and being a kid.

For me? A mix of chasing him around and grabbing the occasional breather with a coffee. And that’s the good thing it works for both of you. You can get involved, or you can sit back and just watch them enjoy themselves.

After burning all that energy, we stopped for food and honestly, it hit the spot. I had the chicken burger, Stanley had fish fingers and chips as part of the meal deal with a drink, and to finish the day properly… a Slush Puppy. Simple, but perfect after all that running around.

One thing I rate about Kidspace is how flexible it is price-wise. You’re looking at:
• Around £11.50 for a standard 2-hour session
• Or about £13.50 if you want more flexible “anytime” entry

And if you’re planning to go more than once, they actually offer an annual pass starting from around £8 a month. That includes perks like free adult entry, discounts on food, and even money off parties which is decent if your kids end up loving it like Stanley did.

Speaking of parties this place is built for them. You can book full birthday packages where they handle everything from activities to food, and even give kids access to things like the go-kart track as part of the experience. So it’s one of those venues where you could easily turn it into a proper celebration day.

We stayed a couple of hours, and it flew by which is pretty much the perfect amount of time. Enough for Stanley to completely burn himself out, but not so long that it turns into meltdown territory.

If I had to sum it up, it’s this: it wasn’t just a day out it was one of those proper dad and son days. No distractions, just being present, laughing, and making memories in the middle of all the noise and madness.

And seeing Stanley leave tired, happy, and already asking when we’re going back?

That tells you everything 🙂
