Epsom & Ewell Family Centres are an integral part of the community offering a range of support to families within Epsom & Ewell.  The main purpose of the Family Centres are to provide the following services and facilities by helping and assisting Families of children through all aspects of family life, from parenting challenges to creating healthy and positive relationships within the family.  Providing on going support to families of children aged 0-11 years old and supporting families of children with special needs or disabilities offering various courses to empower and allow parents to feel confident in all areas of parenting.

Courses on offer include:
– Parenting support
– Support for parents to have healthy relationships
– Advice and support on keeping children safe
– Family learning sessions to help support children’s learning at home
– Advice and support on mental health and wellbeing

Epsom & Ewell Family Centres also work in close collaboration with local health services including community midwives and Health Visitors who provide vital support regarding 0-5 year child development.

Within the Family Centre the below take place through your health care professional:
– Developmental checks – booked directly through your health visitor
– Midwife appointments – booked directly through your midwife
– Drop-in Healthy Child clinics –advice and guidance from health visit

Parent Drop In
In addition to the above the family centres offer weekly Parent Drop-in sessions where you can pop in to speak confidentially to a Family Support Worker for support on all aspects of family life.
There is also Domestic Abuse support and guidance is also available at this session.
(Please note you can also discuss DA with your Midwife and Health Visitor or at any of the sessions above)


Parenting Puzzle
10 week parenting course, where parents can learn how to create a positive environment for their children and deal with parental challenges with confidence.

Keeping Your Child In Mind
A 4 week course supporting healthy communication to ensure the family work together.

The DICE programme aims to raise parental awareness of child exploitation by increasing the knowledge and understanding of this growing issue.  DICE is aimed for all parents/ carers of children from the age of 10 and runs as a 4 week course.

Parent Drop In Sessions
As described above.

First Steps To Understanding Emotionally Based School Non Attendance (EBSNA) @Ewell Family Centre
A 3 week course (2hr sessions) providing understanding in regards to why your child may not be able to attend school.
Sessions start:
Weds 18th September -Weds 2nd October
9.45-11.45am (3 sessions in total)

Connect Cafe: Coffee Morning For SEN Parents/Families @Epsom & Ewell Family Centre

An informal coffee morning where parents can connect with other parents with SEN children.
Young children are welcome.
No booking required but advisable to ring beforehand.

Groups and Courses at Epsom & Ewell : Surrey Barnardos Family Centres

The Family Centres have been a life line for many including myself.
My eldest child was diagnosed with Autism last year, the various courses offered by the Family Centres have really been beneficial to our family in understanding how to manage various challenges and connect with our child understanding the challenges he faces from his viewpoint.
