HOT YOGA @ FITNESS SPACE EPSOM

Last Thursday Dee and I got ourselves Yoga ready and popped down to Fitness Space – Epsom (which opened in August and can be found in town on Spread Eagle Walk) to take part in their 7.15pm Hot Yoga Class.
When we arrived we were welcomed by one of the owners of Fitness Space and given an explanation of what to expect from the class. We were also given a freshly laundered fluffy towel each and escorted to the beautiful studio where we were welcomed by our lovely yoga teacher, Hannah.
Hannah from @hannahestelleyoga is a highly experienced yoga practitioner and teacher, who trained in New York where she also gained a certificate in yoga for children and families. With several years experience under her belt we knew we were in safe hands. A beautiful smell of essential oils filled the air as we walked into the spacious studio. Hannah made us feel instantly at ease and asked us if we had any ailments or injuries which could affect our practice. She ran through the class program and reassured us that we must always go at our own pace and develop our personal strength gradually. We started off with gentle stretching which warmed up the muscles and gently raised the heart rate. This also gave us a chance to climatise to the heated studio. Traditional yoga sequences which help with core strength and stability were then the main focus of the class. Due to the combination of heat and aerodynamic sequences one session can lead to burning up to 1000 calories (how amazing is that?!). We completed our practice with mat work and a gentle meditation in which Hannah would quietly give the class positive affirmations to finish the class. Not only did we leave feeling refreshed and energised but above all extremely tranquil and clear minded.
There are shower facilities and lockers are available at Fitness Space Epsom. Booking is via the Fitness Space App which is available for both Apple and Android devices. Other classes available are Pilates, Spin, HIIT and more.
