GRIPPED LONDON AERIAL ADVENTURE PARK #REVIEW….
Posted by Anthony Besant on 11 Aug 2024
Last week we visited Gripped-London the self described “West London’s Heart Racing Adrenaline Park” and I have to agree as it definitely got our hearts racing! We first visited the park 2 years ago when it had first opened and having just returned the park has got bigger and better. If you and your kids, even a group of adults, or work colleagues love challenging yourself and putting yourself through some physically and sometimes mentally challenging paces I would highly recommend it. It provides a great mix of working individually but also encourages great team work.
The park is attached to Hobbledown Heath in Hounslow, only a 30-40 min drive away and easily accessible with plenty of parking available as well as the nearest train stations being Feltham and Hounslow and bus services stopping right outside.
What did we get up to?
High Rope Courses
Well first off we threw ourselves into the High Rope Courses, there are two of these, one more strength and another more balance oriented. I have no idea why but we chose the strength course and it is tough – a mixture of balance, heights, zip wires and needing to pull yourself up made it a good workout, for at least an hour. Before any activity there is an extensive induction in which you will watch a video, answer questions and then have another period of training on a trial part of the course with an instructor.
All under 15’s must be accompanied by a participating adult so if you go get ready to get involved.
Power Fan Descender

Not being the biggest fan of heights I stepped this one out but Dee and Bobby both gave it a go, this is a 24 metre tower which you basically throw yourself off strapped safety line that uses your own weight to ensure you land softly at the bottom, a great test of mental strength to step off the edge and they both made it look so easy.
Speed Slides

We all gave this one a go – two slides 24 metres high, and 50 metres long. Both slightly different, one an almost vertical drop (well it felt that way) and another helter skelter type design but these are quick and to protect you from those friction burns you must climb into a hessian sack before boarding the slide, an instructor is on hand to help you at all times.
Bag Jump
The Bag jump area is on the same tower as the Speed slides and Power Fan but on the other side – this activity is a freefall activity, it is a total leap of faith, there is no harness, you are taught how to jump safely and for every successful jump you are permitted to proceed through each jumping level 3, 4 and 6 metres! Don’t worry though, there is a huge inflatable at the bottom.
Net Adventure Park

This is tucked away at the back end of Hobbledown and you have a separate access point to the Nets – which I have never actually seen anything like before, absolutely huge play area elevated off the floor with slides, monster size bouncy balls and plenty of tunnels, this would be the perfect spot to get your breath back a bit (as an adult ) sit and have an ice cream and let the kids play.
The only thing we did miss off this time, but have done before is the Dual Zip Line Trekking, over 1km of zip lining around the Heath and above the trees.
Zipped-London is a great alternative for those that want some activity ideas with Teens, I can assure you that after it all you will feel like you really achieved something.
