The holidays are here again and whilst I’m sure most of you already have an extremely busy diaries catching up with friends and family over the festive period I thought I would share with you details of our recent family day out.  This one is for those that might want to step out of the area for the day!

Just a short train ride away is Battersea Power Station – a place that has branded itself as London’s most exciting new shopping and leisure destination. The journey took us just 50 mins door to door – train into Clapham Junction change and then one stop to Battersea Park and a 7 minute walk.

This legendary London landmark (a Grade II* listed building) and surrounding area that closed in 1983 – has been brought back to life.  Re-opening in October 2022 it is now a place for all to enjoy. With an impressive mix of over 140 shops, bars, restaurants, leisure and entertainment venues, parks and historical spaces there is definitely something for everyone to enjoy!

For our family day with children ranging from the ages of 8 – 16 and 4 adults we booked a session at Bounce “the home of ping pong” aka table tennis. We booked a 50 minutes session and it was a perfect mix of fun and competitiveness. There may have been a few tantrums but it wouldn’t be a family day without one right?!

Ping Pong starts at just £6 per person, other games available at Bounce are Wonderball, Shuffleboard and Beer Pong.

Bounce also serve up light bites and pizza but we opted for nearby Nando’s after our session and 2 of the 4 adults may have visited the Champagne Bar whilst the some of the gang waited in the Nando’s queue.

We had a super day out which also included some shop browsing (they have a great Zara) and we will be returning next week as my daughter is desperate to go Ice Skating ⛸
