I have a huge interest in supporting children’s mental health and well being and so was delighted when I was asked to provide young people’s Yoga at the annual Epsom Mental Health and Wellbeing Festival.  It is organised by Love Me Love My Mind and is running from the 6th – 13th October with over 70 events taking place.  This years theme is “New Beginnings”.

Provided by volunteers, Love Me Love My Mind is a small registered charity based in Epsom, which aims to promote better understanding of mental health and to support the well-being of everyone in the community.

As well as weekly drop ins, the charity plan this annual festival to offer FREE activities with the emphasis  being on Mental Health.  You can expect forums for discussion, information sharing and answers to questions people may have.  Unless stated otherwise all the activities will take place at St Barnabas Church, Temple Road, Epsom, KT19 8HA.

Each year, 1 out of  4 people in the UK have a mental health problem, this could be depression, anxiety or phobias amongst other problems.  With these statistics, it is likely that we will all be affected either by ourselves or by needing to offer support to others – sadly that could include our children, other family members or friends.

Mindfulness, laughter Yoga, bread making, cupcake decorating and gardening are just a few of the activities on offer at the festival, there is definitely something for everyone.  There is also a wide variety of talks available such as supporting teenagers with anxiety and low self esteem.

You can find out more about the festival and download a brochure of events here.  I’m sure you will agree that Epsom is very lucky to have such an amazing festival of support and I hope to see you there.
