Epsom town centre’s speciality markets, which offer great quality and a huge variety of products, had seen a huge renaissance in the last few years. Unfortunately, a few haven’t been able to go ahead in recent months and the Vegan market has gone from monthly to bi-monthly. This is mainly to do with less visitors (which makes it less lucrative for traders) plus a loss of some traders due to fuel costs and seasonal factors.

Show your support

The markets are a fantastic amenity and I’d urge you to visit and support the traders at them to ensure these markets thrive.

Alongside the traditional regular Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (includes French stalls from UK-based traders) and Saturday markets, which host a range of stalls selling fresh, local products such as eggs, seasonal fruit and vegetables, fresh bread, butchery and fashions, there are a number of speciality markets that appear. These include vegan, antiques, arts and crafts and world cuisine.

Epsom and Ewell Borough Council currently has some great rates for traders and is really keen to recruit new start up traders. I’ve outlined the details at the end of the blog post.

Here’s a rundown of the markets that take place in Epsom Town Centre’s marketplace.

The Farmers Market

The Farmers Market has been a firm fixture on the calendar for over 10 years.

Held on the first Sunday of every month (9:30am to 1:30pm), the market offers competitively priced high-quality products.

You will find a huge array of diverse, artisan and locally produced foods and products including: fresh meats, sausages, poultry, game, eggs, fish, fruit & veg, herbs, freshly baked breads, cheeses, pies, cakes and seasonal plants.

For more information visit:

The next Farmers Market is on Sunday, 7th August.

Taste of the World Market

There’s always a great buzz and loads of amazing smells (and tastes)! There’s a huge array of global cuisine from Lebanese, Greek, French and Caribbean to Italian, Spanish, Pakistani and Thai with everything in between.

The Taste of the World markets take place 9.30am to 3.30 pm on selected Sundays and Bank Holidays. For the latest details visit the Facebook page here.

The next Taste of the World market is on Sunday, 14th August.

Vegan Market

The Vegan Market – run by ethical vegan events – now takes place on a bi-monthly basis on the fourth Sunday of the month (the next one is August 28th).

There’s a wide variety of vegan foods, products and produce and an impressive roster of regular stall holders that you’ll find on the market bi-monthly alongside new traders:

There’s everything from Nordic wellness drinks, spirits, free from cakes and date coffee to eco-friendly toiletries, dog superfood, faux fried chicken and cannabinoids.

Art & Craft Makers Market

This market is comprised of 30 plus stalls celebrating artists and craft makers from Epsom, across Surrey and beyond. You’ll find an eclectic mix of handmade work which can be purchased directly from the artist or maker.

The next Art & Craft Makers Market is on Sunday, 30th October (10am – 4pm).

Antiques & Brocante Street Market

This unique market offers up to 40 stalls of antique collectables, curios, vintage, retro, bric a brac as well as vinyl records from traders and enthusiasts from across the South and beyond.

The next one is on Sunday 13th, November 10am-4pm in the marketplace.

Want to be a trader?

Regular and casual traders are both welcome. For the traditional Thursday and Saturday markets, the cost for casual trading is £22.50 per day for a standard size pitch (3x3m) plus £3.00 for electricity supply.

Epsom & Ewell Borough Council (EEBC) is currently offering a discount if traders want to trade on Wednesday AND Friday: Both days for a total £30.00; a Thursday AND Friday is £37.50.

The fee for the Taste of the World event is £20.00; again for a 3x3m pitch.

EEBC can provide free parking permits for traders plus access to water supply and toilet facilities.

Happy shopping, and good luck to any new traders amongst you!
