🎅🏽 I love a market at any time, but especially at Christmas. Here’s your guide to the markets taking place over the festive season and details of Market in the Mansion and Bourne Hall’s A Jolly Good Christmas programme of events. Don’t forget there are regular Thursday and Saturday markets held in Epsom Market Square with a variety of stalls selling fresh, local products such as seasonal fruit and vegetables, fresh bread and baked goods, meats, fashion and more.

The Fish Monger (who used to be at Bourne Hall car park) is at the top of the Grove Ewell Village by All Things Nice every Friday.

Ewell Village Artisan Market


This popular market usually held in The Grove in Ewell Village will be held in Bourne Hall on Saturday, 2nd December (10am-3pm).

A showcase for local businesses, products and producers, you’ll be treated to an array of goods including: wooden hand crafted gifts and toys, art, decor and vintage items; homewares, honey and beeswax products, handmade jewellery, fresh pastries and artisan breads; speciality coffee, award-winning preserves, herbs and spices; ladies clothing and accessories; handmade soap, body butters and vegan skincare products, bamboo eco-friendly products and more!

The Farmers Market

The Farmers Market has been a firm fixture on the calendar for over 10 years.

Held on the first Sunday of every month (9:30am to 1:30pm), the market offers competitively priced high-quality products. The next market is on Sunday, 3rd December.

You will find a huge array of diverse, artisan and locally produced foods and products including: fresh meats, sausages, poultry, game, eggs, fish, fruit & veg, herbs, freshly baked breads, cheeses, pies, cakes and seasonal plants.

A Jolly Good Time at Bourne Hall

This year Bourne Hall will be hosting a full week of Christmas Festivities from the Saturday, 9th December until Saturday, 16th of December inclusive. Here are the details:

Saturday, 9th December: A day full of fun for all the family with the grand opening of the Christmas Grotto, a line-up of performances from local dance schools, and at the end of the day the Mayor will be doing Bourne Hall’s Big Christmas light switch on! Light switch on will be at 4.30pm. A free day out for all the family!

Monday, 11th December: Jade Sibley from Hook Heath Flower Farm will be hosting a Christmas wreath making class. Bringing flowers and dried foliage straight from the farm to Bourne Hall, she’ll be teaching you how to design and assemble your very own wreath. Taking place from 7pm-9pm in the Begonia Room. It is £60.00 a ticket and can be booked through her website; booking includes a complimentary drink: 

Tuesday, 12th December: Head Chef Anita Chappel will be running a Christmas cake decorating workshop, helping you create your very own festive snacks from 17:30-19:00 in the Begonia room. Please enquire for pricing.

Wednesday, 13th December: As the nights lengthen and the year grows old, honour the darkness in the company of veteran storyteller Jeremy Harte. From a place of dust and shadows, he brings you age-old tales of seasonal superstitions from the cold heart of winter. (19:00-20:00 Rose Room) Free Entry

Thursday, 14th December: Join for a festive fun screening of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, a heart-warming tale for all ages. The flying Saucer Cafe tuck shop will open for all your movie snack needs! (18:00-20:30 Rose Room Rated PG) Free event.

Saturday, 16th December: Head down to The Flying Saucer Café to listen to the Sounds of the Dragonfly Sky Band, surrounded by Festive snacks and Drinks.

Santa’s Grotto will be open from 10am-4pm 

Due to it being Santa’s busiest time of year he will only be able to ‘Meet and Greet’ on the 9th and 16th December. However, from the 9th until the 16th there will be a post box in his grotto to send him a letter and plenty of Christmas card photo opportunities for the whole family! There will also be some candy canes for good children!

Market in the Mansion 

A new Christmas market is coming to Cheam Village, inside the historical Nonsuch Mansion on Sunday, December 10th (10am-4pm). A cosy indoor market awaits, glittered in twinkling lights and mistletoe. Aromas of mulled wine, hot chocolate and mince pies will fill the air, with loads of festive fun, food and shopping. The perfect place to get into the festive spirit and find those unique gifts and unusual stocking fillers!

There will be over 20 stalls with a variety of festive gifts and crafts. Entry to the market is only £5 with all proceeds from the tickets going to the Hospice. Children under 16 are free.
