COME ON BARBIE LET’S GO PARTY #REVIEW…

Anyone else got totally caught up in all the Barbie Movie madness like me????…slightly embarrassing at my age but I totally fell into all the marketing hype. Growing up it’s one of the toys I have fond memories playing with either on my own, with my sister or friends, I loved that you could change the outfits, the diversity of all the different dolls and their different characters and I remember even giving Barbie a questionable hair cut more than once!!!! As a mum to a daughter I’ve also enjoyed buying Barbie dolls as presents not only for her (she’s 15 now) but for nieces, cousins and friends. Anyway back to the movie, with all the hype it was no surprise that tickets on the opening day at Epsom Odeon were sold out by the time I went to book, so I booked tickets for my daughter and I at Wimbledon Odeon instead a quick 15 minute train ride and a total win for my daughter as we fitted in a visit to Wagamama’s before the movie.
Set in a very pink Barbie Land the movie boasts a heartwarming and uplifting story that centers on friendship, self-discovery, and the importance of staying true to oneself. Barbie (and Ken) live a perfect life every single day until one day Barbie starts showing signs of imperfection and has to visit the “real world” to try and make herself perfect again..
I’ll leave it there as I don’t want to give anything away but in summary it’s funny, has some endearing characters and some valuable positive messages making it a fabulous choice for a family cinema trip. If you’re looking for a heartwarming adventure that celebrates the power of believing in yourself then do go and see it.
