On Thursday night myself and the Epsom & Ewell Families team visited The Derby Arms for a mid week catch up (Thursday night is apparently the new Friday night just so you know!).  As always we were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome as we were escorted to our seats in the main dining section of this beautiful pub.  The great thing about The Derby Arms is that it always feels like a treat when visiting and feels new and special each time no matter what the occasion.  We all sat down and were shown the new summer cocktail, mocktail and spritz menu which didn’t disappoint!

As well as familiar summer favourites such as Aperol Spritz firmly on the menu we were offered an array of super summery beverages which were all guaranteed to instantly transport you to summer.  We all tried something new from the menu which included;  Cuban Mai Tai which had a summer twist to the classic where spiced rum and Cointreau were mixed with lime and a dash of almond liquor. Stunning!

My personal favourite was the Yuzu and Lime Margarita which had the right mix of sweet and sour. Tequila was mixed with lime and yuzu syrup served neat on the rocks!

We also tried from the menu sparkling basil and watermelon spritz which was great for people who don’t like overly sweet cocktails. Extremely refreshing and total summer vibes in a glass!

As well as cocktails, there is a vibrant range of non alcoholic mocktails which Kalli sampled.
Kalli is a massive fan of Aperol Spritz and had been looking for a good non alcoholic alternative. That evening she found one!
The Amalfi Spritz mocktail ticked all the boxes for Kalli, made with non alcoholic essence of orange bitters and mixed with white grape and apricot soda this particular mocktail was an absolute winner!  She also tried the classic virgin mojito again easy to drink and extremely summery.

As well as enjoying the summery drinks on offer we indulged in a range of sharing platters and starters from the food menu, such as warm flat breads with baba ganoush and fresh tzatziki, calamari and sticky chicken to name a few. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!  As always the Derby Arms didn’t disappoint!

For those who want to visit for drinks, lunch or dinner booking isn’t always needed but during weekends is advisable as it is for obvious reasons very popular
