CO-WORKING @ ORU SUTTON #REVIEW…
Posted by Kalli Pasqualucci on 05 Mar 2025
A short distance from Sutton station and nestled in the heart of the High Street, just opposite the entrance to St Nicholas Centre, is the newest branch of the Oru brand. A beautiful space for the community and a fantastic co-working space for professionals seeking a home away from home office. Dee and I were recently invited to review all that Oru Sutton had to provide.
Co-working Your Way
Oru Sutton offers a versatile approach to co-working, tailoring each experience to suit all of the different professionals using the space. Members can choose from having a hot-desk, fixed-desk or booking their own office.

There are also sound-proof pods, for private conversations, meeting rooms and a town hall. Further benefits include Wi-Fi, lounge areas, secure lockers, members-only events and discounts on food and wellbeing packages.

Our Experience at Oru
Melanie, the wellbeing manager, welcomed us and introduced us to Oru; showing us around the massive venue and sharing the story of Oru as well as their focus on sustainability and community – something that Dee and I both value. They opted to keep the venue’s decoration to a minimum and re-purposed furniture and textiles to suit the low-key and eclectic vibe of the business.

After our introduction, we spent most of the morning working hard on a new and exciting new project – which felt very much in keeping with the collaborative mindset of Oru – before heading downstairs to try the menu at Trinco.
Taste-testing Trinco
The award-winning cafe and restaurant, Trinco, is accessible to visitors and members. The vegetarian/ vegan menu is inspired by Sri Lankan cuisine, and the dishes that we tried were absolutely incredible. My meal was a warming lentil dhal (with a fried egg) and Dee had the halloumi paratha wrap. We’ve agreed that we definitely need to visit again as both were delicious.

Balancing Work and Wellbeing
At Oru, they understand the necessity of balancing work and wellbeing, and because of that they have a diverse timetable of health and wellbeing classes as well as a space for those who prefer a traditional gym setting. They also have family-friendly classes and private wellbeing practitioners located on site.
Developing the Community
There really is so much to see and do at Oru – every corner that we turned revealed a new and exciting offering; and on top of co-working, delicious food, well-being classes and health care practitioners, Oru also has options for those with children. Creating a space for parents to feel supported and nurtured, and encouraging and supporting working parents by providing a nursery on-site – allowing them peace of mind while they work.
The founders of Oru really have found the perfect, most harmonious way to blend work, wellbeing and the bustling community of Sutton. And Dee and I both hope to visit again in the summer to enjoy the roof-top garden (and of course to visit Trinco).
