CINDERELLA @ THE EPSOM PLAYHOUSE #REVIEW…
Posted by Devenia Besant on 18 Dec 2024
“A kind-hearted girl mistreated by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters. With a little help from her fairy godmother’s magic and a bit of bippity-boppity-boo, she transforms for the royal ball, where she catches the attention of Prince Charming.
But when the clock strikes midnight, the illusion fades, leaving only a single glass slipper behind. This enchanting production is generously dusted with heartwarming moments, tummy-tickling comedy, and glitzy costumes galore.”
We had the pleasure of watching this years Epsom Playhouse Panto Cinderella and what a great night we had, a fabulous storyline (will Cinderella make it to the audition on time?), there is a great blend of comedy including the typical close to the mark Panto fun and frolics. All the actors did a fantastic job but our favourites were super cute Buttons and the ugly sisters who had us in stitches throughout, especially their facial expressions and short sharp quips – absolutely hilarious. It was also lovely to see local dance and drama schools get involved in the production.
If you are a regular Epsom Playhouse Panto attendee expect to see some regular stars, and some new faces too. Gemma Naylor and Titus Rowe play Cinders and Prince Charming, Rikki Stone plays Buttons, Derek Elwood and Jamie Bannerman are the ugly sisters to name a few.
It was a super performance by all, a lovely show to enjoy over the festive period. We are so lucky to have a theatre right on our doorstep putting on amazing shows for all ages.
If you haven’t already been performances are running until Saturday 4th January, with a relaxed performance on Friday 3rd January. “If you need to move around, make some noise, and prefer less intense lighting and sound effects, then this is perfect performance for you!”
