BOTTOMLESS PROSECCO BRUNCH @ THE WELL HOUSE INN…
Posted by Kat Heath on 28 Apr 2021
With lockdown restrictions easing slightly and the spring time season in full swing it definitely is the perfect time to enjoy some alfresco dining
Last Saturday Epsom & Ewell Families enjoyed visiting the picturesque Well House Inn situated just off the A217 in Coulsdon. (Approx 10-15 min drive from Epsom/Ewell). This stunning pub with it’s beautiful breathtaking views of the Surrey countryside dates back to 1500 and really is the perfect spot for a quiet drink or to sample some alfresco culinary delights.
We booked in for their Summer Brunch which runs every Saturday between 11am-1pm.
The concept of ‘Brunch’ which we are all familiar with has recently stepped up a gear with many venues offering ‘Bottomless Brunch’ to their menus. Bottomless Brunch is a trend which originates in Manhattan and soon after transcended to many popular London restaurants and beyond. The main difference between a traditional brunch and a bottomless brunch is that the brunch menus are accompanied with unlimited glasses of bubbles within an allocated time slot.
The Well House Inn is the perfect venue to enjoy this refreshing concept. As soon as we arrived we all felt instantly relaxed.
The sound of the birds and the stunning scenery allowed you to feel instantly transported into another place. As you enter the newly landscaped outside seating area, you are warmly welcomed by a member of staff who is standing by a beautifully adorned pergola. It really felt like you were entering a magical garden with a path of stunning roses leading you to a sophisticated marquee with heating.
Once shown to our seats we were given the first (of many more!) bottles of Prosecco on ice between the 6 of us.
The atmosphere was buzzy with many others enjoying the bottomless brunch experience too.
Live music created even more of an ambiance. While we sipped our Prosecco and soaked in our surroundings we enjoyed the talented live singer whose repertoire included perfect renditions of George Michael and Kings of Leon and many more.
The brunch menu which consists of locally sourced food was very extensive, catering to everyone’s tastes including vegan and gluten free options. There was everything on offer for everyone, from traditional full English breakfast, fluffy American pancakes served with bacon and maple syrup to a granola bowl served with mixed berries, chai seeds and yoghurt.
It was brunch heaven!
I went for the Eggs Florentine which consisted of two beautifully golden poached eggs served on a bed of wilted spinach and a beautiful soft English muffin laced with a rich and sumptuous Hollandaise sauce. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the muffin melted in your mouth. A great accompaniment to the Prosecco which was still continuing to flow.
Dee enjoyed the traditional English breakfast which consisted of 2 eggs, back bacon, butchers sausage, slow roasted tomatoes, grilled mushrooms, hash brown, baked beans and granary toast. (A vegan alternative is available)
Again beautifully presented and of a very high standard.
The two hours went very quickly and the staff throughout were extremely attentive and insured the Prosecco continued to flow. We enjoyed the venue and the service so much that we decided to stay well into the afternoon!
A great way to enjoy a late morning on a Saturday, highly recommended and excellent value!
