Alcohol-Free Nights Out in Epsom and Ewell

Dry January has come and gone; but if, like me, you’ve decided to stay alcohol-free for the long run or you’re sober-curious, you don’t have to miss out on nights out. While you can absolutely just drink soft drinks, I used to love a cocktail, so it’s great to find non-alcoholic options on menus or behind the bars.
Here are some restaurants and bars in Epsom and Ewell that I’ve tried and loved:
On a night out with friends, last May, at The Derby Arms on the Downs, I tried their ‘Virgin Mojito’ and ‘Amalfi Spritz’.
As a huge fan of the bitterness of Aperol, I absolutely loved the Amalfi Spritz – made with Lyre’s non-alcoholic Italian spritz – it has become a favourite non-alcoholic brand for me. You can find this booze-free alternative at Derby Arms or at The Spring Tavern in Ewell. Their menu is available here: www.thederbyarmsepsom.co.uk
I love Caballo Lounge‘s ‘Strawberry & Amaretti Smash’, made with Lyre’s Amaretti and their homemade ‘Sherbet Lemonade’ – which might be one of my favourite drinks of all time. It’s so refreshing and tangy.
Have a look at their menu: thelounges.co.uk/caballo/ because they have other options, including a non-alcoholic “G&T” and a Coconut & Pineapple Punch.
I was invited out for dinner with friends at Koza, so had to try their non-alcoholic cocktails. I’ve since tried them all, but my favourite was their ‘Innocent Mojito’. You can find their menu here: kozabarkitchen.uk
And my latest night out, and the one that I was most nervous about, was visiting Epsom’s gin bar, The Ginistry.
My assumption was that I’d have to order a soft drink and everybody would know that I wasn’t drinking (yes this is still a worry for me) and the questions would start.
But I was so pleasantly surprised. The Ginistry had a few non-alcoholic gins to choose from, and I really enjoyed my Seedlip and Tonic. Plus, they have such a great vibe in there. Find out more here: theginistry.com.
And although those are the places that I’ve tried, I have also found a few other local spots that serve non-alcoholic cocktails that I will have to try, as they sound really delicious:
Ask Italian has a ‘Strawberry Blossom Spritz’ and ‘Pink Grapefruit Spritz’.
Cappadocia serves six non-alcoholic versions of popular summertime cocktails, including a Daiquiri, Colada and Mojito.
Well House Inn has two fruity cocktails – one made with passion fruit and one with strawberry.
Be At One have great names for some of their drinks. Including the ‘Reformed Pornstar’ and ‘Pants On Fire’.
The Horton serves an apple and elderflower spritz and an orange and passionfruit spritz.
Epsom Social has five mocktails, including ‘Tropical Sunset’, ‘Apple & Ginger Mule’ and ‘The Explorer’.
There are a lot of wonderful local places to visit when you’re not drinking, or are limiting how much you drink.
